Updating previous reports, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Johnson's new six-year, $35.5 million extension gives the Bengals the option to extend his contract through 2011 if they desire. His new contract will pay him $16 million between 2006 and 2007. The new deal brings $10.75 million in "new money" from the extension portion of the deal. He received $5 million through a signing bonus and will receive $250,000 reporting bonus, $250,000 workout bonus and a $2.75 million base salary in 2006. In 2007, he's due a $3.5 million option bonus, a $1.5 million reporting bonus, a $250,000 workout clause and $2.5 million in base salary. His remaining base salaries will be $3 million (2008), $4.5 million (2009), $5 million (2010) and $6 million (2011). In each of those seasons, there are $250,000 workout bonuses. If the team does not exercise the option on 2011, they must make him a non-exercise payment of $3.5 million.
