"A team signing CB Charles Woodson. Same scenario as Law, but let's look at a team like Kansas City inking Woodson. A guy from their division makes sense and it would mean the Chiefs could think about a defensive end like Tamba Hali or a wide receiver like Santonio Holmes. The Chiefs could upset the predictability of the bottom third of the draft with such a signing."

Could make things a little more clear for the Chiefs when they're on the clock.
Anyone know what Woodson is looking for in a salary? I know he has had injury problems so I assume a full medical clearance would be conducted before any signing.

If we take a WR in Rd 1....

Interesting scenario...

yet highly unlikely considering Carl's well documented lack of creativity.

I would LOVE to sign Woodson and stick it to the Raiders, but sadly, that's what other teams do to us....we don't do it to them.

That would suck IMO.

Actually, that's not true.

See Chester McGlockton.

Everyone said LaVar Arrington was going to cash in, blah blah blah. His deal seems team-friendly.

If we could get the upper hand in negotiations and get Woodson on a similar deal, i'd be all for it.

See Chester McGlockton.and Kennison. Has Woodson began visiting with teams yet?

and since that didn't work out, we will never do anything crazy like that again, right Carl?

Woodson would be a great signing, but I just don't see us 1. having the cap space to sign him, 2. having the balls to sign him

Also, after our wild offseason this year, i'm not sure Lamar can fork over anymore bonus money. The Lenny Walls signing surely broke the bank.

I know he has visited with the Packers and the Bucs. Tampa Bay may be luring for Woodson to be back with Coach Gruden.
Personally, I think that the Chiefs would be ideal for a CB like Woodson, gets to play against his old team, familiar with other teams within the division, and gets to pick-off an un-experienced Rivers in San Diego, a potentially un-experienced rookie or INT happy Brooks in Oakland, and an erratic Plummer in Denver.

I read where TB wants him as a safety.

See, I don't see where this comes from. An attitude like this completely ignores precedent.

Did we not just do EXACTLY THIS last year with Surtain? Or did I just imagine giving up a huge bonus and a 2nd-round pick?
