Dolphins | Williams loses appeal

Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams lost his appeal of a fourth violation of the NFL substance-abuse policy and will be suspended for one year, according to a source. Williams was informed by the NFL Tuesday, April 25. Williams will now miss the entire 2006 season. He can apply for reinstatement after that.

I honestly hope this sends a message to Rickey to turn his life around for the better. If anything it helps send a mesage to the rest of the NFL that this sort of behavior will not be tolerated.

That's hilarious, but so sad too. So much talent wasted for the love of drugs. Some will say, hey - it's his life - let him do what he wants (which is true, but it's a shame)...then this happens. I hope that Ricky finds his way to sobriety, or at least finds the happiness he's obviously looking for.

This is one of the most pathetic Throwing Away Of The Talent stories ever. He's the most perfect just-say-no cautionary tale boogeyman since the dawn of time.

I wonder if he'll affect the Dolphins' salary cap.
