Are there any luxury hybrids out there that will allow me my creature comforts and fine European elegance in design yet send the oil companies a message that even those of us who can afford to be gouged find it objectionable?

I also want to send our politicians a similar message that support for alternative energy sources is appropriate and desirable.

I tell you what you go down to your local Jaguar dealer, look at them and drive them. Then you tell me it is a Ford. This is like the silly people who try to say a Mercedes or an Audi is just a Chrysler.

That is if they will even let you test drive one.ROFL

Lexus GS 450h. Autospies says it's as good as the last M5, which I have driven and is BAD.

Supposedly it's v-8 power with v-6 economy or something. The GS is a very nice car though, I was gonna buy one but ended up with a Bimmer.

Thats what I heard too.

Isn't GM doing some good stuff? I saw a commercial for the go yellow, see green or soemthing like that. Anybody know anything about that? Something to do with corn.

I'm in the market for a new car too, and I drive a BMW, and dont want to lose the engineering aspect that I love about my car, but I am very interested in this GM thing.

That commercial is about some of their new vehicles being able to run on an 85% Ethonal 15% unleaded fuel mix.

I own a Prius, if you need luxury you won't like any of the Toyota/Honda Hybrids. Toyota will have a hybrid Camry out this summer but I don't think it is built with fuel economy in mind much like the other SUV hybrid they have.

Also, be prepared to pay over $5000 for a replacement computer and other components when there is a failure. It may be one component that fails but a chain reaction occurs in the system and the whole thing goes down the tubes.

If you want luxury keep what you have and pay for the gas, it will take a while to offset the cost of the new vehicle with the savings in gas.

Actually, from what I could tell from the show, the car removes the stink from the driver's farts and runs on that.

It's the best we can do until the government releases the designs for the carburetor that runs on water.

I heard that urban legend a while back. The inventor was found dead after he applied for a patent. All of his notes disappeared, I wondered who had them!
