View Full Version : Very cool thing about an Amber Alert

Yesterday here in Vegas, someone had kidnapped a little boy. So all the radio stations in town were airing Ambert Alerts all day.
On the news this morning the kidnapper had been caught, becasue one of our listeners heard the Alert and happened to be right behind the car in question and called the police.
How cool is that?
You always hear about these child abducters and you wish you could do something to help them get caught, and we did. That feels pretty good.

I'm always amazed at the morons who kidnap kids named Amber.
It'd be like naming your kid Lou Gehrig.

Mother Charged in Missing Child Case
April 27, 2006 04:00 PM PDT
Three people are now charged with felony child endangement after Metro issued an Amber Alert to find a missing child.
The 14-month-old boy, Jaxton Allen, who was last seen in his motherís vehicle late Tuesday night was found Wednesday afternoon and is safe.
Allen was last seen in his mother's car around 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Police say the mother did not report the child missing for four hours. An Amber Alert with the child and car's description was issued.
The car was parked in the area of Tam and Northridge when it was taken by two people known to the mother as "JD" and "Rachael". The mother told police that while she was talking to another person, "JD" drove the car away with her child inside.
The two adult suspects, a male known as "JD" and a female known as "Rachel," where taken into custody this afternoon around 4:00 p.m.
Authorities say they were tipped by a driver who happened to hear the Amber Alert on the radio, while driving on the highway. The driver recognized the car and then called police. Police then stopped the Honda CRV on US-95 near Tropicana Avenue.
Police have charged the two people who were with the child as well as the mother for waiting so long to report the missing child to police. Police believe the incident may have been drug related.
