We also don't have a 4th round pick. I'm thrilled with Croyle but does anyone else find it a little odd that the front office has decided that Lenny Walls is the answer with the departure of Warfield and McCleon? We just replaced 2 mediocre CB's with 1 mediocre CB imo. Seems to me that there may be some regrets by early winter that we didn't AT LEAST get our hands on that Ohio State kid Youbouty or Richard Marshall. Thoughts?

Maybe we are switching Pollard to CB. That seems like a horrible fit, and I think Carl would be up for it.

I almost posted this, but I was too fearful to actually see it on the intraweb. Carl might be reading........

I was waiting for someone besides myself to breach the Ty Law subject especially being a n00b, but I have been thinking the same thing. Ty hasn't had anyone beating down his doors for his asking price. There may be some bargaining leverage to be had after this draft is over.

We've got a little cap room, he loves Herm, etc. Seems like a pretty big risk though, no guarantee after last year he has ANY interest in KC

It's what you convert a safety into.

I'm not worried about it at all.

1) I'm firmly convinced this staff thinks we're fine with what we have.

2) Nobody we were going to pick today was gonna start day 1.

Perhaps this coaching staff knows that improved pressure by the front-seven is more important than uberstud corners?

We have alot of youth at CB already. Herm and Gun must believe one of them is going to step up.

I think we already have plenty of options at CB. If Battle is healthy, I think he wins out. David Gibbs probably had something to do with bringing in Walls. Hodge might have potential? It's been decades since his last INT though, IIRC. And we've got the self-professed uber-CB-finder at HC. I'm just glad we didn't waste a high pick on another CB. CBs are over-rated given the NFL officiating, and take too long to develop. Nobody was going to contribute this year that we could have drafted today, IMO.

I'm a bit confused as to why we drafted a SS when we have a new contract with Sammy Knight, but the guy can tackle. Otherwise I think we've had a very good draft.

1) great. Our staff was comfortable with our moves on D for the last 3 years too. I'm glad that provides you comfort. Maybe we can move up into the high 20s def ranking.

2) We couldn't have picked someone to beat out Lenny Walls?

Gunther was supposed to fix stuff too.

Not to mention he's still the DC.

1) Other than Gunther, the staff of the last 3 years is gone.

2) Drafted CB's rarely beat out vets day 1, regardless of talent. Even top 5 picks like Terrance Newman didn't do it.

I sincerely hope we finish in the top 10 so you can swallow your damn tongue...

I agree. Our head coach is a former corner. If he saw a huge weakness, he'd be improving it if at all possible.

Herm Edwards said in today’s draft conference that the Chiefs have 12 cornerbacks on their roster. Is Herm counting William Bartee as a cornerback? I was hoping they would draft a corner and move Julian Battle back to a free safety.

1. Julian Battle
2. Michael Bragg
3. Kevin Garrett
4. Gabriel Helms
5. Alphonso Hodge
6. Chris Johnson
7. Justin Perkins
8. Benny Sapp
9. Patrick Surtain
10. Lenny Walls
11. Dewayne Washington - Not listed in NFLPA but still shows on roster.
