The RB will learn to stay behind his lead blocker.

The thing that impressed me with the first video was not just the fact that he hit the RB hard, but that he actually wrapped the RB up as he hit him.

Maybe we will be seeing a much more physical D from the picks Herm is getting.

No kidding, when was the last time we had a guy that could hit like that? I just hope all of our Offensive starters make it out of camp in one piece. ROFL

In the bonecrusher video, did anyone else notice that it said he had 5 blocked kicks in his career. Remember when Albert Lewis blocked a couple of kicks a year, I can't remember the last kick we blocked. I think the bumper sticker should read "The play stops HERE!" I like the Kevin Ross nubmer also, :p GO CHIEFS

What a hit! Awesome technique. Thanks for posting, Mr. OldTownChief, I never would have seen this otherwise.

Is it possible? Could it be? Should we have hope that our defense will play with attitude this year under the Herminator?

Point being he lacks the speed to come up and support the run. Hell I wouldn't mind get lit up as long as it moves the chains.

Point being he lacks the speed to come up and support the run.If you can tell that from one video, maybe you should quit your day job and take a job as a scout.

Demonpenz
04-30-2006, 02:34 PM
Frankly the nfl won't allow guys like me to even apply for the scout position. They want a balanced league. It would be bad for the league if my team racked up 10 superbowls in a row.

You can't tell that by watching this one play but the hammer award tells me that he's a consistant tackler.

That's silly. Also the next time that reciever gets the ball thrown his way he'll prolly be hearing foot steps.

We got rid of Eric "Beer Crusher" Warfield and now we have the "Bonecrusher" that can hit and is a sure tackler-and people complain. The number one problem with the Chiefs defense has been pussy tackling-we draft 2 hitters in a row and its like doomsday around here.

So far Bonecrusher:

1. Is slower than my grandma
2. We drafted him too high-he was rated in the 3rd or lower.
3. Is inexpierenced, came out early for no reason but money.
4. Makes poor descions in defensive scemes, is out of place at times.
5. There was tons of better players still on the board that would have made a bigger impact.

I say, he can overcome his flaws and will be that headhunter that makes WR's think twice about tiptoeing across the middle of the field for big gains.

It was a reach by most people standards. I don't remember him making too many plays in college. I remember him getting benched time and time again for his attitude problem

I kept saying this all last year in. Well that they needed to try for a block once in a while. If they didn't get the block it would make the opposing team think the next time they punted to dante and maybe stop them from immediately head down field. I think if they try to block a punt in the first couple of games it could open up Dante for some big returns.

Last hit i saw like that came from Eric Warfield at Seattle in 2001 during pouring down rain. He laid a hit on Darrell Jackson that just about knocked his damn socks off. Replay showed it a few times, but Warfield literally nailed his ass coming out of a crossing out pattern. It was one of the loudest "POPS" I've ever heard and Warfield knew it too. He strutted around like a damned rooster for a few minutes after the hit.

That was the same game when I knew Dante would be a star returner. He fielded a one hop punt that dang near went over his head and he caught it beautifully. I had a conversation with Gansz Jr. at Nick n Jakes in OP one night about it, told him that was when I knew DV had been right about him.

And one final note from Shanahan about Laurence Maroney. "I loved him," Shanahan said. "I think the Patriots got a steal. An absolute steal. I think he's going to be the best back in the league."
