Iím very saddened to share the news of my fatherís passing at home early this morning. My dad was my best friend and greatest role model, and I will miss him deeply. Iím overwhelmed when I think of all of the great things he accomplished in his life. He was an amazing dad, coach, mentor, soldier, husband and friend. I wouldnít be where I am today without him, and Iím honored to continue his legacy of sharing and caring. Thank you to all who are sending condolences to my family and our Foundation. We are truly blessed to have so many who care during this difficult time.

Sad news.

I am a bit surprised at his age, he would have had Tiger around 40 years old.

Yep, every father knows whether his son or daughter is going to be a world class athlete in their sport?

Tiger's mom is Thai and Chinese.

Earl Woods was born in Manhattan. Manhattan, Kansas, that is.

One of the ARVN guys that Earl fought with in Vietnam (he was a Green Beret, two tours) was nicknamed "Tiger" by Earl. He promised to name his son after him.
