View Full Version : What is your all-time most memorable Chiefs quote?

This could be a quote from the 60's, 70's, 80's.....last month......yesterday...etc.

It could be a quote from the locker room, on the field, on the radio or anywhere.

It could be a quote from a player, coach, GM, owner, media member or anyone associated with the franchise.

It can be one that is most memorable because it is positive, funny, negative, inspirational, wierd or whatever.

Who said the quote? Where were they when they said it? Why did they say it? Etc., etc.

Discuss......

Enjoy!

Can't remember it exactly, I'm sure some can, but Marty used to say, "When it comes right down to it, what matters most is the 6 inches between your breastbone and backbone."

Now, I know some will run with dirty minds here, but in reality, regardless of how much talent a person has, or doesn't have, the Heart is really key.

Now, if you count DT signaling the safety then geting it as a Quote, then that one is tops.

Last year during a game one of the broadcasters, I forget which one :(, said "Trent Green has big hands. Slick balls don't bother him."

I never wanted Tivo more than I did at that moment.

Probably the most famous Chiefs quote of all time. It is always the first one that comes to mind.

"Just keep on metriculating that ball down the field boys."

"I don't f#cking play for Penn State no more!" I think that one is more urban legend than true. Someone said that LJ said it, but it's not verifiable as far as I know.

It's true. And no, I can't verify it, but anybody who was here when the Penn State/Chiefs fan posted the thread will vouch for it. He wasn't lying. Larry Johnson is a dick.

Don't worry, I've made my peace with it. The guy runs like Jim Brown on crack.

I don't smoke crack and I don't apologize for CP.

Carl's a d!ck and I'm a d!ck, so I can relate. In fact, I'd even admit Peterson is the kind of guy to **** his mom out of her SS check. While he's a definite underachiever I don't think he's as completely worthless as most here do.

LJ was rude to a fan. It's not cool, but that's not his normal MO either.

Okay. But did you think the guy that told that story was lying? Maybe I'm a sucker, but he didn't sound like somebody who wanted to tell a "bad" story. He sounded like a guy that would have rather been telling about how his Penn State hero had signed his little football helmet.

When it happens to a Planeteer, it gets my attention. One story like that goes a long way. I've never heard anything even close to that for T-Rich or Dante Hall or Trent Green or Dick Vermeil. Every fan story that I've read on this site about those guys was pure class. The only real fan story I've read about LJ was horrible.

It was during training camp. Schottenheimer was going on about leaders or about RB and who was going to lead the team in that regard. Then supposedly Kimble Anders stands up and says "I WILL".

First game he has a career day and cant remember if it was that game or the next one he blows out his knee or acl. Which obviously sucks but thought the 'I WILL' comment showed alot.
