I could give a rats ass about KC hosting a SB. Now playing in one is a totally different matter.

I could give a rats ass about KC hosting a SB. Now playing in one is a totally different matter.I think it would be cool to have one there. But not if it meant having to have a roof to get one.

Hosting a Super Bowl is for pussies.

Detroit spent a ton of $$$ to get theirs and they're still waiting for the economic boom.

Yeah Detroit is at the top of my list of places to visit.
And although I like KC it just isn't a big tourist attraction. I believe the cities making the ton of $$$ have a lot more going for them than a SB.

Years ago someone posed this question as "Why isn't the Super Bowl played in KC" and I gave the most comprehensive answer ever:

...because it's cold in the winter.

Not really...Jacksonville is no great city with lots of attractions. It's probably a step below KC.

It all boils down to climate, pure and simple.

No Roof. No SB. unless their is a radical change in the NFL old guard. It's all about the NFL $$$$, show for the big spenders.

the Super Bowl should be played in one of the cities of the teams that are actually in the SB. The one with the better record. Motel rooms wouldn't matter, because fans would sleep in their cars in sub-zero weather to see their team in it. & the people who go to the SB to be seen at the SB, can all go to hell

Absolutely, when I lived in Minnesota the biggest gripe I heard from the diehards was it was the whine and cheesers who got the dome built. They hated the fact that one of their biggest rivals, the Packer fans, could tough it out.

I like that the superbowl is played in a neutral site (well, usually...). I wish it would be played in the elements sometimes, though.

Hosting the SB...eh, rather the Chiefs be in it.

I can see some nice advatanges for the community to have more opportunities to utilize the stadium for other events though.

One thing is for sure, if we ever do it will be in a stadium in Kansas. I've given up on my sorry ass fellow Missourians.

I voted for the roof but I didn't like it. It was good for the community but the pussy wimped season ticket holders would have been screaming to close the roof when it got below 50 degrees. I love outdoor football. Fuk indoor NFL games.

Chiefs decide
By Associated Press
May 26, 2006

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday withdrew their request for Arrowhead Stadium to host the 2015 Super Bowl after yet another setback in plans for a rolling roof at the Truman Sports Complex.

Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt said in a statement Arrowhead Stadium renovations would move forward without a roof to make it and the adjacent Kauffman Stadium climate-controlled, a condition for hosting the Super Bowl.

"We tried our very best but found that the combination of a lack of consensus from the various political interests, the business community and the Royals, as well as the need for promptness on the beginning of construction at Arrowhead would not permit us to pursue the rolling roof at this time," Hunt said.
