If Priest has to retire how should he be remembered?
Name on the Ring of Fame?
Retire number 31?
Have a .31 cent nacho day at Arrowhead?

We gotta hope. We're still at $6.50. More Realistically Maybe $3.10?

If he does, he gets a ring. Even if the record is passed now, he did set a record for TDs that stood for 10 years.

Ring, Nacho AND beer.

I'm pretty sure he meant set a record that had stood for 10 years

He holds almost all of our meaningful career rushing records. He deserves a spot in the ring a lot more than some of the other guys who are up there do.

Try two years.

I didn't think Emmitt Smith had his record ony 2 years prior. My mistake. IMO, getting them all on the ground is what made it so special, which is why I say the rushing record is cooler than the overall record.

Didn't Priest break Faulk's record of 26 set in 2000?

Here's Holmes: http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1645

Here's Faulk: http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1109

you do the math.

Look here :
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/stats?playerId=548

Faulk had 18 rushing tds and 8 receiving in 2000.

And here:

"He had 1,359 yards rushing in 14 games and set a new NFL record with 26 total TDs (a record that would soon be broken by Priest Holmes and later Shaun Alexander, although it should be noted Faulk missed 2 games in 2000 and would likely have extended the record had he been present in those games). Faulk had 18 scores on the ground, setting a new franchise record, and 8 through the air. "

I never disagreed which ya. The nfl.com stats say the same thing, though. Anyway, we have definitely clarified that MF has 26 TDs in 2000.

It would be difficult for any of Priest's records to have stood for 10 years since he has only played 9 years.

Priest's legacy is similar to TD's in my mind. I don't think he'll ever get back to his 2002 form.

LJ should break the ground TD record again this year.

That is going to be very, very difficult to do, Mr. Halfcan.

But, if anybody could do it, this team could. We'll miss our kidney in the red zone, though.

I could care less who is back there, but the Chief's Redzone Efficiency has to improve.

It would be awsome to see Priests name in the Ring of Fame one day. And as a bonus, .31 nacho day to boot.

I would definately put him on the ring. Take down Steadman's name if they need a space.

I wouldn't retire his jersey though. I think that should only be reserved for extremely rare situations, if ever.

In the ring at least and then have LJ score 31 touchdowns in 2006

They would still make money on the draft Beer.

Why not?

Hopefully he's remembered as a ring of famer and not the guy that all the fans said "piss on" once there was someone else viable at the position.
