I may go buy this movie on a recommendation from a friend. Have any of you seen it, and if so what did you think?

I'd characterize it as Fairly Decent Indie Fare.
Not dreck, not life-changing. Some decent semi-dark humor. Decent characters.

Squid is pretty chewy. I have never tried Whale.

I would imagine that whale would be pretty fatty.

If you had whale sushi, would the pieces each be a pound?

The exchange rate is $1.8566 per pound. Sounds a little expensive for a single piece of sushi.

Taste like chicken.

Lets put Free Willy on the grill. I'll bring the beer. Somebody bring some sticks and peppers so we can make some whalekabobs.

Pretty good movie, I'd suggest renting it . If you're a fan of American beauty and Happiness(not nearly as dark), you may like it.

Squid is rubbery, bland, and rather disgusting. However with the proper preparation and sauce, you can lessen the bounce and drown out the flavor. People tend to call this calamari and believe that it is good.

I dig calamari, I've tried squid straight up but it's a little rubbery/chewy for my liking. but its great fried up

I hope this doesn't mean you are going to be cooking calamari at our next tailgate at Arrowhead this season.

If you're eating breaded calamari it might as well be French Fries. Should you ever find yourself in Durango Colorado go to a restaurant called “Ken & Sue’s”.

Best Calamari you’ll ever eat in your life. Never found a place that even comes close which says a lot being I only live 1+ hours from the Atlantic Ocean and they are well, where they are.

If you liked the Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, I would definitely recommend this. Like Wes Anderson movies, the characters deal with depression, but its not a depressing movie. IMO, the younger brother is the best character. He does some crazy stuff. But, like someone said before, you should probably just rent it before going all the way with it on the first date.
