A couple of my buddies have a cell phone that is like a tank...one of them dropped theirs in their pool and it still worked. It was black, altell had them and it wasn't a flip phone. That's all I know.

I tape my freaking battery to my phone and I can't even get service in my house. It's been ran over, shit on, dropped, left in the rain, stolen, and even burnt. Time for a new one. Those new slivers look pretty good, I think they run about 350ish without a contract.

I have a LG C2000. I like it so far. Just had it about a week now. Don't know how much it costs since it was a free upgrade from my old phone (with two year contract).

They still make thoughs? That was my first cell phone back when I was a junior in HS (2003). I used it for a month and realized it sucked.

The Motorola V551 is a pretty good phone and it's well under $350 now. I bought it based on it's long battery life rating and I haven't been disappointed. It has a camera too, but I don't use it much at all. The camera is also capable of video. I can't say how the camera compares to other phone cameras. It also has bluetooth.

I bought a razr for the giant assed screen and the higher res camera phone.
Gaming and taking pictures is definately better on it, but truthfully I need to stop buying phones for those types of features because I never end up using them enough to justify it.
In fact I regret the purchase of this phone period because the Motorolla contact list sucks balls. All you can do is map a name to a phone number in a 1:1 relationship. With my old LG phone I could have multiple contact #s and emails for each person in my contact list, it was much better.
I also don't get the battery life out of this thing I got from my old LG
It sure looks slick as shit though.

I don't like the razr phones. They may be thinner, but they're too big once you open them. If you want the best pictures possible, get a digital camera. I love my LG. The pictures on it aren't that bad, either.

I didn't like the size either initially but in the store I was drawn to the giant screen, and when I slipped it into my pants pocket I saw the wisdom of the slim design. I've always just carried it in my pocket since I've had it, and I've decide the size and shape is definately a plus. It's the most pocket friendly phone I've owned.

Funny thing, I was digging around in my desk and found an old Motorola Startac phone. Those things were all the rage 5-6 years ago and everybody had them. I remember them as being small, but they are the length and bredth of the Razr and twice as thick. That phone is a monster by todays standards and yet we all carried them without a problem. Interesting the way things change.

i think the new razr v3i is supposed to have a contact list where you can even caller ID with a picture etc.

I just picked up a LG LX-350 for Sprint PCS for $49 after rebates. It is a great phone, and I bought a Motorola bluetooth headset to go with it for $50 and it's one sweet setup.

The LX-350 has bluetooth and a 1.3mp camera. It's pretty thin for a flip too.

I have an Audiovox, I think it is a 9000. I don't see any #'s on it, but I remember 9000. I've had it for over two years, dropped it lots (sometimes the battery has popped off). The camera was decent at the time but its not much as far as resoultion in cells nowadays. Its my first fancy shmancy flip phone, and I'm surprised it has lasted this long.

Ive worked in wireless for 16 years, owned and tested Motorola, Ericsson, Sony-Ericsson, LG, Samsung........and without a doubt the most reliable, the best performing manufacturer of TDMA/GPRS handsets is Nokia.

I've just purchased my daughter a Nokia 6102 and she loves it.

I have a Treo 650 for e-mail and love my Nokia 6620 that I've had for 2 years.

FWIW.
