Puerto Rican Fats, Sidney Ponson has been demoted to the bullpen, and Anthony Reyes has been called up to take his place in the rotation. He's the best prospect the Cards have in their farm system, and why he didn't start the year with the big league club is a little bit of a head-scratcher to me. Nevertheless, this kid's got all the tools. If you are in a Fantasy Baseball league, I'd recommend picking him up.

Is he related to Jose?

Great news.
Though he easily handled the Royals in KC earlier....
he is very solid pitcher I'm not surprised.

He's a white boy.

Ever since Ankiel, LaRussa has been super hesitant with young players it seems. He's a good pitcher, probably could've started the year in the rotation and been fine.

The best catch ever made and it happened right here in KC at Kauffman in 1997. Running full speed with your back to the ball, diving and getting it at the warning track.

Works for me. Now all we have to do is get rid of that assclown Mulder.

I'm going to the Thursday night game against the White Sox. Sucks that Albert won't be back yet. :cuss:

That was a nice catch.

The best ever? Hardly.

I thought Edmonds' catch two years ago against the Reds where he reached over backhanded and pulled back a home run was a better grab. I also thought his catch in game 7 of the 04 NLCS was better given the difficulty and the circumstance.

I want to punch Mulder in the face right now. Jocketty almost never gets fleeced in a trade. Well, Billy Beane got his ass. What I would give to have Haren and Calero in our staff right now :shake:

I'll trade you a bag of balls for Mulder. Straight up.

Haha, Hamas was one step ahead of me. I literally stopped paying attention to that game for about 10 minutes and blammo... it went from 1-0 Cards to 9-1 White Sox. Mulder gave up 9 runs in like 20-25 pitches... pretty impressive.

A lefty with durability concerns in a contract year. Where is Steinbrenner when you need him.

No shit, I can't follow the game out here. I was watching the Tigers/Brewers game and was following the Cards/White Sox through my fantasy tracker. I look away and blammo, Mulder has spread open the game like Houston's legs during the Houston 620

Of course, the White Sox score 11 runs in one inning and Dye gets one goddamned RBI. You could at least help out my fantasy team if you're going to slaughter them like that. :cuss:

I'd make that trade in a heartbeat, but you'd be getting cheated.

God this has a chance to be the most lopsided loss I can remember the Cards taking...

Fight! Fight! Not really, but Ozzie Guillen isn't happy. Be interesting to see if he orders someone for the Cards hit.

LaRussa looked like he was admonishing Ponson when he took the ball from him. Maybe Ponson did do it on purpose.
