I know this means even less than preseason polls, but I have a problem with the Chiefs being ranked #14. Let's assume Ty Law signs here:

No way should Jacksonville be ranked that high. They were one of the weakest playoff teams I've ever seen. They are almost all defense. Their offense is nothing to write home about. The Jags will miss the playoffs this season, and the Chiefs will whip them at Arrowhead.

As for Cincinnati, I refuse to believe that Carson Palmer will be ready when the season starts. It takes a year to rehab that injury. I believe the media when it says Palmer will miss the first month of the regular season. With or without Palmer, the Chiefs will beat Cincy in the opener. The Bengals will make a playoff run, but they still have a suspect defense.

As for the Dolphins, they're everybody's sexy pick. The game at Miami does seem a little scarier this year. Culpepper should be ready when the season starts. However, the Dolphin's defense isn't what it once was. The jury is out on this team.

If the donkeys are #4, than the Chiefs should be in the top 10. Who's their running back? As usual, we will probably split with them. I think Herm will do better at Mile High than Vermeil.

The Colts are too high for my liking. People think that Rhoades and Addai will make us forget Edge. I'm skeptical about that. I'm also skeptical that their defense will repeat what it did last year.

I can't disrespect the Seahawks and Steelers, but I will say that we will beat the Seahawks at home. You know the Chiefs win that type of game. The game at Pittsburgh should be entertaining.

I'd put the Chiefs in the 5-10 range for sure.

Despite it being a repost, this is an excellent thread. I read through everything and I completely agree.

But anyway, I think this is a good opportunity for RANDOM PICS!

I fear Jacksonville. I think we all foget how young Leftwich is. He just gets smarter and smarter, and tougher and tougher.

But I like it when they rank us low, cause then when we win double-digit games, we can be like, "how do you like us now, bitches?!?!?!?!"

First off, cool pic...

Second off, I disagree. Just because you do poorly in the playoffs doesn't mean you don't deserve to be there. If that was the case we didn't deserve it in 03-04 when we were beaten by the Colts...again. It takes experience to be good in big games, and Leftwich has now been there, and has the experience.

Plus, last time I checked the Patriots haven't lost at Foxboro in January in a LOOONNNNG time, so its not like they were just expected to win.

I don't know. I have to get the papers signed and whatnot, so it's gonna be a week or two before I can get one. I was gonna go looking around this weekend.

I'll tell you if I do or don't. I won't be a bitch about it, I promise.

I didn't say that specifically because of their playoff performance, it was their joke of a schedule that really irritates me.

They hide away in the trees,
sloths are there forever
they wish to be with you and me,
sloths are the forever
they cannot reach up to our speed but,
sloths are there forever
they cannot comprehend our needs but,
sloths are there forever
and when they die we will cry
it will be sadder than ever before
because the sloths are gentle beasts
they will live on forever more

I'm with you, Mr. Sam Hall.

We should be in the 5 to 10 range as far as pre-season rankings are concerned, for sure. Plus, you're right about J'ville. Some people forget or overlook the fact that their schedule was really easy last year.

By the way, if you were planning a trip to Montreal soon, you may want to reconsider.

Right, but they also had an injured QB... So IMO, it kinda evens out. Once again, it doesn't matter, its not like its the AP top 25 or something.

Denver lost Mike Anderson. Sory Bronco fans but you are looking at 8-8 with Plummer and no Anderson.

Meanwhile we have LJ and possibly Priest, Kennison and Gonzo...if PArker can hold onto the ball Trent Green will have another stellar year

What was their record when Anderson was out the other year?
