Roaf retires, Welbourne stays retired.

I don't even want to contemplate Shields getting hurt.

I think we would be dreadful on offense 4-12 type dreadful.

It's a team game, and we have Larry Johnson. The defense would have to improve, but it has to improve at some point in the future. We could still be a wildcard team.

Well it's a team game.
LJ would struggle 1000-1200 yards.
The LT (Turley/Svitek?) would get some serious playing time.
RT Sampson/Black.

More passing plays since Trent would have to be more mobile.

8-8 WC? Depends on who we beat

In the end, we all die alone.

If what you are saying is true Vlad my prediction would be the #5 defense in the league, a 9-7 record, and the 19th pick in next years draft. It just seems to be the way things happen in KC. I don't know if I can take another mediocre year of Chiefs football. Don't make me think about it. ARRRGGHHHHHHHHHHH I CAN'T HEAR YOU I CAN'T HEAR YOU I CAN'T HEAR YOU

Well, if Roaf retires and Sheilds does too, 4-12. If Roaf retires and Shields gets hurt and misses 7 games, 5-11. If Roaf comes back but gets hurt and Sheilds and Waters both get really bad colds 8-8. If all come back but Shields gets called in for Jury duty 9-7.

We could adjust. Put Dunn on the left side and run a lot of two TE sets until the new LT gets comfortable. I don't know about the secondary though. Oh wait we could sign Ty Law with Roaf's money.

I guess I would say that if this team is relying so heavily on a 36-year old offensive tackle, then they aren't good enough to get to the playoffs anyway so what does it matter?

Welbourn-played 12 games
Roaf-10
they didn't lose all those
games they were out

We were 3-3 without Roaf last year.

So maybe we're a .500 team without Roaf, but the defense WILL be improved this year.

8-8 WC? Depends on who we beatBeing as I believe we will likely be 8-8 or 9-7 if everything goes well I really doubt this prediction. Under these circumstances LJ will be luck to reach a 1000 more likely he will end up on the injured list after making a stalwart effort.

LJ averaged almost 5 yards a carry without Roaf last year.

16-0 with

12-4 without.

Playoffs

AFC Championship

Super Bowl.

It's just our year, nothing will stop us.

I'm remaining positive, if things go south I may reconsider but camp has not started yet, I won't spell gloom and doom for anyone.

I think whether he retires or not we won't win the Super Bowl and everyone will be pissed at King Carl.

is it rare for players to retire after the draft? Welbourn's avoid-another-'roid-bust retirement doesn't count...

OK

W - 9/10 Bengals NOON assumes Palmer not back
L- 9/17 @ Denver 3:15
9/24 BYE
W 10/1 S.F. NOON
L - 10/8 @ AZ 3:05
L - 10/15 @ Steelers
L- 10/22 Seattle
W- 10/29 S.D.
L - 11/5 @ ST LOUIS
L - 11/12 @ MIAMI
W - 11/19 RAIDERS

W - 12/10 Baltimore
W - 12/17 @S.D 3
W - 12/23 @ OAKLAND
L - 1/1 JAX NOON (Assumes game means something to Jax)

That is 8 losses I can easily see occuring with our schedule, it could be slightly better or worse. Much worse with no Roaf all season.
