View Full Version : Gun second coaching casualty of the week?

If the players play uninspired, undisciplined ball tonight (which they will), Gunther will follow through on his previous threats of hanging it up. Gunther & Norv finish the NFL regular season on the golf course and Gun actually gets 3+ hours of sleep per night. You heard it here first.
We need Gunther to finish out the season, lest we get Willie Shaw as HC.
had his fill of DCs turned HC for now.
What's the difference? Shaw couldn't do any worse.

Gaz, let's see here - red hot poker stick in my left eye (Gun) or a red hot poker stick in my right eye (Shaw). Who cares - they both sting like hell and both need to be doused with piss.

Man, I hope you're right. Unfortunately, I doubt you are. Gun deserves this more than Norv, and Norv deserved it a while ago after fading like the Raiders every year.
I'm not tired of DCs turned HCs, just backwards HCs and in-over-their-head HCs. Give me a DC who is able to let someone with offensive knowledge take control of the O for HC and I'll be happy. Right now I see better HC candidates that are defensive-minded.
Gunther was a DC with an attacking, aggressive, "blitz 'em till they bleed" philosophy.
Shaw likes the soft zone.
'nuff said, IMO.
dismayed that Gunther lost his aggression.
