Webb looking forward to his destiny

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs on April 30, Jeff Webb has gone quietly about his business with little fanfare in the past two months.
"It hasn't been a big change, but it has been a change," the 2001 La Quinta High School graduate said. "I have a job now, and I have to compete to be the best."

Webb participated in two mini-camps since the draft. When he first arrived in Kansas City, he said felt in awe of his surroundings.

"There's a tradition there. You feel a spirit once you go in the stadium," he said.

After the initial awe wore off, Webb, who played at San Diego State, settled in and formed friendships with some of his teammates, namely fellow wide receiver Samie Parker, who has played the past two seasons for the Chiefs. Webb said Parker showed him the ropes and answered his questions.

I hope he makes the squad this year. I'll definately be observing him at River Falls. Hopefully Parker didn't "show him the ropes" in regards to holding on to the ball after the catch...

How exactly does the media pick which cinderella they're going to pimp out each year before camp? Is it all the underdog scenario? Best looking?

I just don't get it.....

There's four receiver spots this year, and three of them are pretty much taken up. If Webb wants the last one, all he has to do is catch the friggin ball.

Man, this is bullshit. Webb needs to make the team as the fifth receiver. F*ck Dante Hall on offense! I want Webb and Thorpe out there as #3 and #4.

yeah, that would be my preference as well although I wonder how much of that is attributable to Saunders' use of Dante in the passing game. I really hated that "catch it at the line of scrimmage and see if Dante can break it" play. While on the topic, I am a bit curious what McIntyre can do but the answer is probably nothing or we would have seen it already.

He and Scanlon are locked in an epic battle up on Mt. Olympus. It will probably last for one hundred years if Chuck Norris doesn't break it up.

I like Webb. Hope he makes it into the mix ahead of Dante Hall like Go Chiefs said.

Do you mean he will miss him, as in missing him with the football, ala 6 int's in one game, or do you mean he will miss him when BO's out for most, if not all of every season with an injury?
