Just gauging interest.....

I'd be interested in setting up a 12/14 team free re-draft league with CP members.

Some friends of mine (****ing Lambs fans) have a 10 player league every year that sends the winner off with two free seats to a home game.

If we did that it would only cost about $20-$25 a person... :hmmm:

I would be down for something like that.

I just don't know if it'd gather as much interest as a free league.

I'm only in it for the fun myself, but I'd have no problems with laying in 20-30 bills for a possible $200-300 return.

Rad (and others) - do you have any experience in FF?

I'm part of a league that uses myfantasyleague.com, but my guess is that - for a ChiefsPlanet league - we'd use either Yahoo! or ESPN.

I'm reading ESPN's page now and it looks good.

Do you need some help starting it up?

CupidStunt

I should be OK but I wouldn't say no to any help. I'm not really sure what the best website to use is, however. ESPN looks good; can't see any flaws in what i've read so far.

Just need the members and to finalize some details (draft, etc) and it's a go.

Yes.

We used ESPN for the last 4 yrs. in my league and every year it got worse. Not being able to log in, server problems etc (although I never experienced those problems myself, other owners did.). If they have upgraded their server, they're OK. This year, we are using Yahoo.

Interesting. ESPN looks (and sounds) a lot better than Yahoo! from what I am reading, but i've no idea on the potential server problems.

Anyway, 10 or 12 teams sounds good.

Live Draft, right?

I can't stand that automated draft horsesh!t

CupidStunt

Whichever's more popular, I guess. Live Draft works for me, but so does one where you pre-rank the players.

closer to the season, you'll see alot of these....Some leagues have been running 3-4 years.

Some free, some pay, some for beginners, some for the more serious, some salary cap.

Figured as much. Only reason I thought about it so early is because the last few years I've managed to miss the hoopla completely and have to wait another 9 months.

just my .02, Yahoo has the best free FF leagues.

Yahoo! it is, by the looks of things.

'Bout 3 or 4 of us so far.... get some more and i'll set it up today. Need committed owners, though.

Yahoo is by far the best out there...Although NFL.com DID move their leagues back to free of charge last year. We'll see if it stays that way, but I much prefer nfl.com to yahoo.

just my .02, Yahoo has the best free FF leagues.

Check out Fleaflicker this year. I used to use Yahoo all the time and dumped it because Fleaflicker is better.

I have the no.3 pick in my league this year and I dreamt last night that the first two drafters were idiots and let larry johnson slip to me.

Id' be up for it if it was live draft the no earlier than the last preseason game.

Hate drafting earlier only to have star players go down with season ending injuries the last preseason game basically making the owner of that team quit before it's even started.

Yahoo is by far the best out there...

BS.. They will not be the best until they start allowing keeper leauges.. ala ESPN.. and the free espn also allows divisions, but that is really only for leagues with more then 14 teams...

When is the draft?

CupidStunt

Well, there's no league right now so I don't know. But like you, I think it makes sense to do it closer to the season - probably sometime between mid-August and early-September.

Ok. I've made the league.

Link: http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/leagueoffice?leagueId=33000

Now it's a case of me PM'ing those interested, rooting out those who are likely to not committ and giving passwords to those who will.

You can find out everything you need to know on that link, but any questions, just ask. 3 divisions with 4 teams, 4 playoff teams (division winners + 1 wildcard), 1 winner.

There are 7 slots taken, 2 potentially filled and 3 vacanies.

Everyone that is an owner is a committed regular here at ChiefsPlanet and the more of us from ChiefsPlanet -- as opposed to anywhere else -- the better.

League homepage: http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/leagueoffice?leagueId=33000

Available teams: Boston Crusaders (East div.), Denver Dragons (Central div.), Phoenix Stars; Seattle Chiefs; and Sacramento Sharks (West div.).
