Here's the thread to admit any 4th of July fireworks mishaps.

Numb fingers don't count....

We did our first fireworks on the lake last night, and as luck would have it 5 minutes after the fireworks (while we are making our way back to the ramp) it starts raining. (Hasn't rained here in like 2 months...)

But we had one go off in the launch tube, lighting the neighbor's bean field on fire.

It didn't burn far. It was hell trying to stomp it out in shorts and flip flops though.

we have a no sandals rule for the kids on the 4th so we also observe it for ourselves.

One year my son somehow got a lit punk between his sandal and foot, that looked rather painful.

This year is the first I can remember where noone got burned.

Last year, my FiL took a report to the foot. He was wearing leather boots and still suffered burns that took 8 months to heal.

So on the sandals, we figure "why bother"?

first rocket screamer that went off lastnight my bulldogs take off across the field like they were gonna eat the entire woods.

Last artillery shell of the night didn't go off in the air...instead it decided to wait until it fell about 2 feet from the ground. Caught the ditch on fire pretty good.

The fire rose up about 3 feet, so stomping didn't work...had to bucket brigade it.
