Is it really necessary to spend tax money on radio advertising for foodstamps?

The gist of the add was, you may not think you need them, but you should come check us out, you'd be suprised.

What a brilliant f*cking campaign. Let's try and convince people that are currently getting by without a government crutch that they indeed do need handouts. God forbid they become self-sufficient.

"Getting by on your own?"
"Why?"
"Don't you know you can suckle from the tit of the bloated government?"

Sell drugs for foodstamps 3 for 1 then go down and spend it all on Filet Mignon and lobster. Maybe the people in line will get it.

Food Stamps are a great thing, as long as they buy pork with it.

Playing Devils Advocate here...

I bet there are just as many people who are qualified for food stamps who have too much pride to use them as there are people abusing them. Of course, the children of those people who may be missing a meal have no say in whether or not their mom or dad take government assistance.

Really, how can ANYONE be hungry in this country? We don't eat to live, we live to eat. Maybe that is why they are advertising the foodstamps.

I'd be interested in reading the actual transcript.
