Ok, be honest. How many of you thought you would read newly selected (from supplemental draft) LB Ahmad Brooks was suspended...already!!

Odell Thurman - LB - Bengals

The NFL suspended Bengals LB Odell Thurman for four games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
Thurman was absent from a recent minicamp and now we know why. A candidate for Defensive Rookie of the Year and IDP league stud, Thurman has a history of troubles dating back to college. The team will probably use Landon Johnson or supplemental draft pick Ahmad Brooks at MLB in the meantime. Jul. 13 - 4:59 pm et

Well that sucks for them Thurman is probably their best defensive player. He's been through alot of stuff, usually when both of your parents are dead before you're out of college that tends to lead to some things.

Dayum. Is it just perception, or does Marvin Lewis have a fully functional circus on his hands now?

I'm concerned about this substance abuse policy. I hope the Chiefs management is edumacating our people on this.

I can think of only one thing, yeah you heard it right! run right at the replacement. Larry Johnson is going have a huge game. I never have liked to kick them while they are down. Oh screw that we are going to crush the bengals. :)

Not so fast. They now have the unique opportunity to replace him in the early games with a character guy like, say, AJ Nicholson or Ahmad Brooks.

Note to Mecca: Stop typing dude, it's a joke.

I just think it's funny that people care so much about character individuals. The Cowboys were sure sporting alot of it as they won 3 Superbowls. Personally I'd rather have that than a team of nice guys that doesn't win.

Are you comparing these dudes to Odell Thurman if so stay off the pipe ROFL, and plus it takes time to learn a new system and the middle linebacker is the quarterback of the defense. You really are stupid i must say ROFL

Oh, my. I've been called a name.

...

No, I won't compare those guys to Thurman.

I'll compare my dead granny to him, however, because she'll get just as many snaps as he does until Week 5.

You can't say that and not mention the Steelers, the Rams, or the three Patriots teams that have just won Super Bowls. Even those Cowboys had some high character leaders in Emmitt Smith and Aikman.

I don't think you need a team full of choir boys, this is football. But we're in the salary cap era now, you can't be wasting millions on guys who are more intent on spending time in court/suspension than on the field.

Im just saying that without him in the lineup that defense will not be the same. No matter who they put in there. Is it opening day yet come on and get here already im ready!

I don't particulary think you need a bunch of bad guys either but some guys talent is worth the risk.

Be nice. We have some trouble makers, but Odell isn't one of them. It looks like it was for a missed pee test.

P.S. I wasn't a big Ahmad Brooks fan, and did not like the fact that we picked him up. Now we have too many LB's on our roster.
