We were watching NFL Access , my daughter was asking who he was. I told her who and she started laughing. I mean gut busting laughing. I asked her what's the deal, she said he has a boner, sticking straight up while interviewing Ray Lewis.

I told her he was gay and wanted Ray Ray ( not knowing this to be true ) ....... she cracked up again. Sure enuff, next camera angle, there he was, smiling at Ray Ray with a woody. :shake:

Anywho, who ever wants to watch, it will be back on later.

BTW, Kyle Turley and Herm Edwards was on it........

You mean when he set the record for 3 rushing TD's in a SB? An impressive achivement to be sure. That doesn't make him the "best" any more than Rickey Watters scoring 3 TD's in Super Bowl 29. Or Roger Craig scoring 3 TD's in Super Bowl 19.

Jerry Rice sure isn't the greatest WR ever simply because of his 3TD games in SB's 24 (against Denver) or SB 29.

Terrell Davis- Superbowl Rushing stats:
259 Rushing Yards. 3 TD's.

Yes. In the alternate reality in which Denver doesn't cheat on the cap, TD leaves Denver after his rookie period ends before signing a long term deal. TD goes on to have a storied career that leads to a first ballot entry to the hall of fame. This, while winning 12 or more superbowl rings in an 11 year span. As an Arizona Cardinal.

No, it's very true. If you're going to hold our offensive line against our players, we're damn well going to hold yours against yours.

It's a great line no doubt, and we've had many special running backs. Where those other backs have been 1200-1400 yard backs behind that line...TD was a 2000 yard back. The only guy that even comes close in that time frame is Portis.

KC's current line is the best in the league...at least top 3. It will be interestin to see what Johnson does as the named starter before the playoffs even ended.

The NFL didn't like that the team with held money and payed it later, but the team needed the physical cash to pay up front costs on it's new stadium. This broke no written rule

When the NFL has to get involved.

So explain it then. What exactly did Denver do that violated the salary cap? I'm also curious why the penalty was only about $900k both times and a 3rd round pick. You'd think that a team that violated the salary cap, the major reason for parity, would be penalized more than that. Especially in a league that believes in escalating punishments (see: drugs, steroids, and dirty hits) for each infraction, with a similar fine the second time you could reason that the league found an infraction but did not feel it was incredibly serious. Also please no "Bowlen and Tags are butt buddies" responses for the penalties, it's hard to take anyone serious who can't think of a real reason for these two penalties.

Time 1 was legally deferred salary that the league deemed the Broncos did not pay at the correct time. This in no way changed the cap numbers of the 3 players who were owed the money (Elway, TD, and Sharpe). The $900+k Bowlen was fined was the interest earned on the $23M from the time it should have been paid to when it was.

Time 2 was improperly deferred money, however the money that was not paid to the player(s) (not sure if more than 1 was involved), was used to finance the up-front costs of Invesco. The player(s) cap numbers weren't changed in this case either.

Joe Montana- Never intercepted in 4 Superbowls
John Elway- 7 Interceptions in 5 Superbowls

Joe Montana- 11 Passing TD's in 4 Superbowls

The problem with the Broncos "great" running backs, like TD and Clinton Portis, is that they'll always have that question mark over their heads. Were they really great, or did they just get great numbers due to the questionable tactics the Donks' O-line has long been known for? Did they need the extra help, or could they have done just as well with a team that played by the rules? We'll never know with Davis, and Clinton Portis hasn't exactly been impressive since leaving Denver.

Why fuel his fire? He will keep attempting to validate his claim even though it is wrong.

Davis dominated the game like no other in his era and won championships while doing it. Few can say that. Do you realize he rushed for 100 yards in 8 consecutive playoff games? That's a record.

umm barry sanders? yea i think barry sanders shits on td BIG TIME, give barry the bronco oline or those cowboy olines, the donks or cowboys could of easily won 4 or 5 sbs in a row

Hell, imagine what he would do behind our O-line. Of course, he couldn't have saved us from our D either.

It wouldn't work any different for him..Sanders wasn't that type of runner for our system. Sanders was what he was a playmaker..

I think you have one year before your offense goes to Herm. Your defense needs better DT's...and that would cover up your secondary problems. Your 1st rounder this year was a step int he right direction for line help in general

Thanks. I'm not really familiar with poker. I just noticed him responding to something regarding male genitals, and I wondered because of the nature of his username.

I'm sorry Mr. Flopnuts if I've offended you in any way.

I'm not that easily offended. :D

No you don't. The thing that puts Davis over the top is the Championships and the 2000 yard seasons..and the MVP's...the playoff performances ...Priest has accomplished none of these things. Here's the kicker....I don't care if Davis is in the HOF...screw the sports writer's HOF...that's all it is and it's a joke. I hate to hurt the feelings of the faithful here, but Priest Holmes is not better than Terrell Davis...Priest might be a 9.5 on a scale of ten...if he is..Davis is a 9.7.
Of all those things you mentioned, only the 2000 yard seasons and the MVPs are going to have anything to do with making it to the HOF or with being "the best rb in the last 20 years". Championships and playoff appearances are team accomplishments, they aren't one-man accomplishments. Even the best teams in the NFL have one or two complete squabs on the team, and if the team makes a playoff appearance or wins a Championship, those squabs get those accomplishments under their belts, too, but nobody is going to argue that they are the best of their position because of it. As far as the MVP goes, earning NFL MVP award in 1998 was a major accomplishment, but earning the Superbowl MVP for SB XXXII was only a minor accomplishment.

He's greatest running back in the last 20 years.
He's a good one no doubt , but I don't cosider him top tier or anything. Only Broncos fans think he's that good.

You guys just don't know because you didn't see all the games...he destroyed people...he could run around, though, and over the defenses....it didn't matter NFC east...west...AFC anybody...complete utter domination.

To Donks fans, he was a gift from God. To everyone else, he had one or two standout seasons, but aside from that, didn't really stand out from the crowd.

If you were to pit him against LJ or Priest right now, Priest would give him a run (if he stays healthy), and LJ would smoke him. Consider what LJ did last year, for playing barely more than half a season. No single season of Terrell's even comes close to what LJ did last year, but nobody is saying yet that LJ is "the best of the last 20 years."

A season is more than the playoffs, and it's more than 8 games long. And two standout (and several average) seasons don't make you HOF material.

And LJ played in just about every game last year. And it was a heck of a run. You guys should have made the playoffs...but you got beat by buffalo.

btw...when TD averaged 5.1 yards per carry on 392 attempts...he was out of most games by the 4th quarter....had he played the full lenght of all those games...he was projected to about 2300 yards..on the ground.

He had a few touches during the first half of the season, but didn't play full games or start until about the 7th or 8th game or so, when Priest went out for injury.

But we're still only talking about one season, and he only had a couple seasons altogether that really stood out as top tier. The great ones, the ones who get locked in for the HOF do that consistently over many seasons, not just one or two. That's not to say he won't get in, but he's not even in the same category with true greats like Barry Sanders, Marcus Allen, Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton.

Dead heat for my money, but Davis has the hardware so he gets the edge.

I'll say this again...the hof is a joke...end of story. TD doesn't have to make the hall to be the greatest...it's just not a criteria.

I'll agree with that. But if TD wants to be the greatest, or even the best in the last 20 years, he's gonna have to come back and do what he did for those couple seasons, for several more seasons. Right now, he's "one of the better" running backs in the last 20 years, but not even close to "the best."
