I Useally like to Cut Hicks Siavii Bartee and Black.

I don't do that because Eric Hicks usually gets a pretty good rating on madden......and also you'll kill your depth and give yourself cap hits.

Siavii turns into a stud if you start him, so does Sims.

Trade Woods and most of the OL

Why would you trade Woods? Huge cap hit.

In terms of what I do, I know all of the gliches in franchise mode, it's funny.

Unless you win the super bowl and TRich makes the pro bowl, Green and Richardson retire. I usually trade for Tim Rattay for a 2nd round pick because he has good awareness and can develop into a good QB.

Then, I spend my cap room on resigning Woods to a 1 year deal, and sometimes Hicks as well. That way I can get rid of them after one year without taking any cap hit.

The following year I'll trade Holmes for a first round pick, then I sign Rashad Lee (HB, rated 69 overall) and position switch him to a FB (he has FB PBK and RBK), and he develops into a stud.

I usually keep Roaf, Shields, Weigmann, Welbourn until they retire. Age doesn't mean a thing in Madden.

Other than that, I'll do training camp every year for Rattay and Rattay only.

Sims and Siavii usually end up being in the mid 90's before 5 or 6 years, which is amazing.

Oh and clearing your cap hits in the offseason is pussy and I never do it. That's dumbs down the entire idea of running a team.

Did they finally change it so you get a cap hit when you trade players? I was playing Madden 2006 recently and I didn't notice a cap hit when trading players. Makes it real easy to unload the Woods's and Warfields with big cap numbers.

Never bought Madden 06 after trying it and seeing how much was stripped out of it.

They've been doing cap hits since 2003, lol. What are you smoking??

And Warfield isn't a big cap hit at all. He has a big base salary, but a low signing bonus. His cap hit is like, 600K or something miniscule.

Maybe for player cuts. I'm talking trades though. I'm not getting cap hits when trading players. Read my post.

edit: I'm going to have to go start a new franchise and see now

I think the one with Vick was the first one that made you take cap hits for trades.......I'm not sure but I think it's that one. There was a time on Madden when cutting a guy gave you a hit and trading them didn't.

That reminds me, I hope they put Ty Law in a Chiefs uni for Madden coming out here in a couple more weeks.

I cant wait for Madden 07 on the xBox 360

I usually turn Bartee into a solid starter. Funny yes, but he does good in that game because he's really athletic, he has good ratings usually.

Gameplay is much more important to me than the fluff stuff like that. I'm sure all that will be added back into next years game but the game plays 100000 times better than the last 2. I'll trade some of the fluff for how much better the actual game is.

Trade TonyG for Kellen Winslow Jr + highest draft pick I can get, trade Roaf, Shields, Green, Priest each for 1st/2nd round picks.

Cut Hicks, Bartee and some others I cant think of.

All of this is after the first season I play as the team obviously.
