No real suprises, except for Terrence Metcalf. He had good size and speed, supposedly.

I'm sure the people on here who thought Jake Slaughter was going to make our team will chime in now.

This is great news. Obviously, Carl is clearing salary cap space to make room for Ty......... whoops, too late. :)

What is the advantage to cutting players before training camp? Is there a maximum numbers of players that can attend camp?

Yes......I believe the number is 90. There is a maximum on the amount of players you can take to camp.

I never thought that Slaughter would make the team but I did figure him in as a backup FB through camp. Will Cruz participate in every single snap now?

"Every single snap" for our FB is probably less than 50% of the total offensive snaps...

"Every single snap" for our FB is probably less than 50% of the total offensive snaps...That's what I figured but only having one guy through all of TC seems strange.

dang ... that's alot of cuts for a team just starting training camp.

i would thought they would keep them around as punching bags or something.

No, they have some ex-Ram named J.R. Niklos who is also a FB. I also had high hopes for Slaughter, at least hoped he'd make the PS.

I had no idea. Thanks for the info.

Mr. Laz

prolly true

if it weren't for coming in for pass protection ... richardson would of hardly touch the field at all once LJ became the starter.

i expect LJ to be more commited to pass blocker this year leaving the fullback to only come in for short yardage/power type situations.

i say we just find a backup guard or tightend to do it.
