View Full Version : Halfcan threw out a wild one and got lucky - Hali and Chiefs agree on a contract.

5 year deal with 6 mil guaranteed. I didn't think Carl was going to leave town without him.

Both sides seem very happy to get the deal done and the Chiefs are expecting Hali to be favored as the starter with the ageing Hicks rotating in to give him a breather and also in certain running situations.

The Chiefs think Hali is the real deal and will make a natural progression to the NFL. They paid above the slotted amount??? His work ethic has impressed KC so far and feel he is much faster than they hoped for. He has a long way to go on the learning curve, but has done very well in drills. Gun seems to just love the kid....., blah blah blah my friend on the West Coast didn't hear the rest.

I hope this is true.

My friend in Rancho Santa Margarita Ca. heard it on Sports talk radio. They were talking about first round picks and just called me. He is a big Chiefs fan-from here-but did not catch the whole thing. He wanted to know if it was true.

I said hang on let me call Nick Athon-lol I was like, how the hell do I know, I have been watching Bewitched. I didn't see it posted yet so figured what the hell.

Like I said-I hope it is true.

I don't know, I have a feeling I am right. Why would they be talking about KC at all?? Nobody talks about KC unless it is to say our Offense is old or our D sucks.

Hali will be on the plane.

I'm not too concerned about Brodie. If you think about it, Although training camp is important, its not like he has to know the offense right away.

I never knew ifwe signed Pollard, though. I thought we did, but I don't know for sure.

He's signed........You apparently missed the posts about how Brodie Croyle is the future savior of the QB position of this team. And Damon Huard is a good backup and how "Casey Printers doesn't have a spot on this team and should be cut".

Isn't 6 million over 5 years a little low for a first rounder, even if he was taken prematurely?

I think thee thread title should be edited to include the word "RUMOR".

And it sounds like a false one at that. 6 mil for a bonus would be below the slotting by about 1 million.

My friend heard on Sirius that Michael Vick was traded for Tamba Hali and a Big Montana from Arby's. Vick will receive his current contract + unlimited weed and cafe latte. Also, Ty Law and Carl Poston joined Hezbollah and the Jihad. Eddie Kennison was released and plans to host Iron Chef on the Food Network. Priest doesn't know if he's returning, he may take up arms against the gov't or have some nooners with Star Jones.

We could be in trouble if Croyle holds out.

That virtually eliminates any chance he has of being the backup QB.

And I don't think Printers is ready.

So a Croyle holdout means we have to keep Huard.

Croyle isnt ready either. And regardless of whether he holds out or not if Trent Green were to go down at all, the whole team would be FUBAR anyways.

Chiefs sign 7th-round draft pick
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Kansas City Chiefs agreed to a three-year contract with seventh-round draft pick Jarrad Page, as president Carl Peterson continues to sign this year's draft class before the opening of camp.

Terms of the agreement, announced Wednesday, were not disclosed.

A four-year starter at UCLA, Page had 249 career tackles and nine interceptions. He is projected as a safety with the Chiefs.

Kansas City has already signed second-round pick Bernard Pollard, a defensive back from Purdue, along with defensive back Marcus Maxey from Miami, offensive guard Tre' Stallings from Ole Miss and wide receiver Jeff Webb from San Diego State.

Peterson recently said he is confident first-round draft pick Tamba Hali, a defensive end out of Penn State, will be signed in time for the opening of camp.
