I always liked that too. Shame he didn't have more occasions to do it.

Agreed... it was nice to see some speed from the LB core for a change.

Talk shit about Fujita all you want..... but he can be singled out as a HUGE reason we did not make the playoffs last year...... or you can blame Larry Johnson........

I guarantee if he plays all 16 games he'll have over 115 tackles

Bank it.

Yea Mike Mazlowski got like um 150 tackles that one year here, still doesn't mean he was good.

I noticed it when i was watching ESPN and they were talking about the Bush holdout, showing a clip from their practices and he was there.

Yes it does. What sort of statistic would you instead rely on to test the performance of an LB?

Last I checked unless it was 150 tackles out of 250 attempts, it's pretyt good. Fujita isn't a playmaker, isn't the guy to step up when you need something big, but he is a solid team player who doesn't ask for a lot of bank, and also compliments someone who is a star player well.

IMO the Chiefs main problems those years were that they wanted him or someone to be their playmaker. That's not who he is.

Ok if you think tackle stats are what make a LB a good player......I'm not even going to discuss this with you.

I'll just quickly point out on a bad defense that's on the field a ton someone has to make tackles.

Unless they are playing the New York Giants.

Yep. What he IS is a garbage player with below average skills. Like Monte Beisel. It's no coincidence our defense got better without them.

Especially since he made a key tackle at the end of the Cowboys game, which we then lost, keeping us from the playoffs.

I like(d) Fujita - I thought he was a sold player, and I was puzzled to see him go. I've got nothing against the Saints either, so I'd much rather see him there than the (shudder) Cowboys.

No kidding, what is up with the nostalgia for a marginal player that contributed to the worst defense in the league?

Scott Fujita, a wasted 5th round pick.

I disagree. Anytime you draft a guy on the second day and he starts or even makes the team, he's a find. In Carl's case...anybody he drafts on the 1st or 2nd day of the draft that plays at for more than 3 or 4 years is a find.

That he's a "find" is one possible scenario.

The other possible scenario is that your defense sucks horseshit SO BAD that you have 5th-rounders starting because that's all you have.
