see that Nokona billboard behind home plate? Nokona is one of the few remaining domestic baseball glove makers. They make great gloves. Their main plant is just down the road from me. They suffered a devastating fire a few weeks ago that destroyed much of the operation. Hope they recover

Where is Go chiefie? I want to talk to him about the trade. Frankly, I think the Rangers had their nose way too open for that. They gave away the farm for a single DH.

Royals just came right back and scored two games due to chitty D by the Rangers, lmao.

How many games left till the end of the season now Chiefie?

Rule # fuggin one in fundamental baseball, get in front of the ball, knock it down, and get it back into the infield. That fool did none of the above, and he gets paid bank to play like that. OMG.

How embarrasing to let a pool table base hit go all the way to the wall like that.

Single fell, and he just flat-out missed it. Rolled all the way to the 400 sign, and DeJesus never paused

Why can't Carlos Lee just trip over a base and break his ankle? Is that so much to ask?

alnorth
07-28-2006, 08:31 PM
For those curious, the reason why all 6 runs are earned despite the 2 errors is because neither play would have resulted in an out if played correctly, and Teahen's homer would have eventually driven them all home.

Well right now his July numbers project out to .325, 47 HR, 162 RBI.

He's been back up for almost full two months now, if you project those numbers since coming back up period, it still comes out to about a .315/30/120 type guy. I'd be happy with that...haha.

about a .315/30/120 type guy.Better numbers than Beltran ever posted.

Not sure he's capable of that (he may be), but, either way, there has been a noticable difference since his little sabbatical to the minors. He's turned his weaknesses into strengths, turning on fastballs, able to pull balls into right field. All the things Brett was trying to get him to do a year or two ago. Maybe the lightbulb finally came on.

We'll see. He's been hitting like this for 3 full months now. That's probably too long to be considered just a little blip or "hot streak". He went down at the beginning of May, tore up AAA, came up the beginning of June and has ripped it up here. That's literally almost half a season of great play.

He's really brought his numbers up...

71 games, 238 ab, 43 runs, 65 hits, 10 doubles, 5 triples, 12 HR, 43 RBI, 26 BB, 55 Ks, 4 SB, 0 CS, .273 avg, .345 OBP, .508 SLG, .853 OBP

He'll double his home run production (7 last year), and match his RBI production for all of '05 (55) sometime in August.

I will be the first to admit whatever they did to him in the minor's worked wonders and he has been a bad ass offensively since.

I could have sworn that some genious around here was complaining about the Beltran trade. What happened to that guy?

tk13
07-28-2006, 10:41 PM
I don't know what happened to Sweeney but he had 1 AB for AA Wichita tonight and came out of the game. Actually he had an RBI double, scored, then was pinch hit for his next time up. We'll have to see what that was about.

Actually Wichita tore it up tonight though, winning 18-8, hit 6 homers. Alex Gordon went 4-5 with 2 doubles, a HR that supposedly hit the interstate outside the Arkansas Travelers' stadium, and 4 RBI.

Haha really, we should've tried to throw our AA lineup against the Rangers tonight, talk about sick.

A. Sanchez SS
A. Gordon 3B
M. Sweeney DH
D. Brown LF
B. Butler RF
M. Maier CF
D. Murphy 2B
K. Kaaihue 1B
A. Donachie C

And that doesn't even include Lubanski who pinch hit for Sweeney and ended up going 2-5 with a homer.

I bet they keep sweeney down there for a bit so that he can teach the young guys a lot about the lifestyle of the MLB and stuff like that. He's definitely a guy that has been through all of it for the most part.

I went to the game last night and it was awesome. I wore my vintage 85 Royals road jersey and only saw about 3 or 4 other Royals fans at the stadium. I went with my buddy who is a bigtime Ranger fan and it was so much fun cheering my ass off as the lone Royals fan in my section while watching everyone else bum out. If I weren't broke I'd go again tonight but I was so happy to see the Royals play so well after looking so crappy when they came into town last year.

All I have to say is Teahen is turning into a hell of a hitter for us!
