OK...this clearly isn't the case with Roaf retiring.

But, people are being WAY TO DAMN LOGICAL about what is clearly really very bad news.

Yes, we all saw what happened as Black tried to substitute for Roaf last year. It wasn't pretty.

But this is the most "team game" of all team games. 22 people split into two groups trying to work as two seperate but cohesive units. A drop in offensive production can be offset by an increase in defensive production. A back-up can shine. Scheme can compensate. Luck can visit.

Many are the examples of teams (in all sports) losing a KEY player and having a successful, or even championship season. Though I am too drunk to offer a single example right now I know you genious-es can provide them.

The Patriots (ok, here's my example) were devestated by injuries and still won it all, sometime in the past. Jim Rome can vouch for me.

My point is this:

Otter: ...Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.

Bluto: We're just the guys to do it.
