In the 80's there was a TV show that if I remember correctly was loosely based upon the War Games movie where some kid used his computer and modem to solve crime... it had to be on CBS (I only got CBS and on rare nights NBC) as a kid....

Im here watching the Revenge of the Nerds DVD and that came to me and now it is driving me nuts....

This shit is driving me insane... any ideas?

Can you find it here? Each year lists a bunch of TV shows that were airing at that time.

Even a year or two before that there was a horrible show called "Automan" This superhero dude was created in a computer and basically had a cursor create all his super tools he needed...hahaha....i cant help laughing about it now. Honestly, most of the 80's shows i loved as a kid are pretty horrible now. There are very few that hold up.

I grew up just north of Hays Ks....

before satellite days...

We had KSNC out of Great Bend

and

KAYS out of Hays...

we couldn't get the ABC channel out of Colby.

Once in awhile the wind would blow right and we could get the ABC channel out of Wichita.

Belive it or not, thats one of the shows that does actually hold up.

I rented the Season 1 DVD of it last year and was quite surprised how good the writing was. As long as you can get past the dated special effects and clothing styles, its not bad at all.

Wow, thats interesting.........I think i liked ABC best growing up.

Its amazing to think that there were only about 12-14 channels of cable as well in the early 80's.

my dad was all pumped one time to make me watch V and then we started watching it and he was like. It wasn't this hookey back in the day. "It's ok dad, I believe you! I mean even H.R. Pufnstuff doesn't hold up well"

That show had some real potential, but the lead actor was terrible, IMO, and he made it difficult to watch.

Can't remember his name.

Dont' call me spoiled...

CBS out of Hays - always 100%

NBC out of Great Bend - maybe lucky, 40%

ABC out of Wichita - never, well maybe 05.%

I still to this day have people make fun of me because I never saw ABC shit until I got out of Palco....

~~ Llama never saw an episode of Happy Days until it was in syndication
