Saved by the Bell. I remember they tried doing the "New Class" episodes. I used to watch that show everyday after school let out.

No one has said Seinfeld, yet I thought that show really went downhill after Larry left the show.

I kind of think South Park. After the movie on the big screen, I think the show really dropped off in terms of popularity. Family Guy has now taken most of those viewers.

Isn't this called "jumping the shark" after the scene from Happy Days where The Fonz did the water ski jump over the shark....that was the show that hastened the decline of that show.

Talk about a really stupid movie. I never thought she was all that hot. Shes too tall for me, and I'm 6'3.

I thought Will & Grace was pretty decent the first season. Subsequent seasons were horrible, IMO.

Sticking with a theme, I thought Ellen DeGeneres' show was really good until she came out of the closet and turned it into an "I'm gay, look at me" vehicle.

I think most shows fade before they're cancelled and I think it's fairly common for a show to have a good first season or two and then go downhill.

Mork & Mindy was another series that had a really good first season, IMO.

As great as it was, "Married with Children" ran way past it's prime. If it didn't jump the shark when Peg got pregnant, it certainly did when they added that Seven kid.

One of my alltime favorite shows was "Friends." But it really started to suffer about the time they paired up Chandler and Monica, and especially when they started moving the characters out of the apartments. They had a great formula going, then decided to screw with it.

Another one that should have hung it up long ago was "Charmed." It was fun and entertaining for awhile, but then they had to go make it a soap opera.

ER and Dharma and Greg. Also, they never should have made a second Joe Millionaire.

Also, JJ Abrams has a problem keeping his shows together. Felicity, albeit a chick show, became nightmarishly bad, and Alias dropped off quickly as soon as everyone started telling Jennifer Gardner that she could do no wrong. Here's hoping Lost doesn't tank the same way.

Old skewl jumping the shark- I Dream of Jeannie, after her and Major Nelson got married. That hot sexual tension they shared (will they or won't they?) just left the building after that...

It's not a particular show, but MTV is way past it's prime. The youngsters around here might not realize it but MTV used to show music videos. In fact, the M in MTV actually stands for "music."

7th Heaven - and it's still going- so I guess we'll see Kevin "bite the bullet" (literally, he's a cop), Mary abandon her newborn twin girls, Simon sleep with every coed that he hasn't done with so already, and less than 24 hours after getting her driver's license, Ruthie gets arrested for DUI. While all of this is happening the 7-year-old twins will continue to complete each other's sentences.

Yes, interesting take...now MTV has several channels. They started MTV2 to show videos and now MTV2 doesnt show videos anymore, it's just Viva La Bam or Wild Boyz reruns with the occasional TRL type show every now and then.

Others that went too long would include Dallas and Dynasty. While I never watched either one of them, I think one of them had an entire season that was so bad, that at the end of it the writers made it a 'dream' so they could bring back one of the characters.

Who Wants to be a Millionaire got really old really fast and I think it's still going, just not on national TV.

I think Cops has gone almost 20 years...how many different ways can you chase and tackle and cuff someone?

Lost.

At first it seemed mysterious and interesting. Great production values, good acting, etc.

They went on to add tons of random unfinished plot lines, and never gave any satisfying answers. I honestly think they're just making it up as they go along. Eventually they have to answer something.... anything!

I finally said "screw it" and quit watching.
