Does the league mandate that a player keep the same jersey number all year? I had made a comment on another thread about the wise move to give Ty Law #24, since every quarterback in the league is trained to automatically audible to throw directly at #24 for the Chiefs.

Expanding that strategy, can we switch players' jersey numbers between games? During games? Would it confuse the defense if Trent came out after halftime wearing Brodie Croyle's number? What if Larry Johnson and Dante Hall switched numbers? Or Tony Gonzalez and Kris Wilson? If Allen and Hicks switched numbers, would defenses not know who to block and who to leave undefended?

..the Rule of Thumb is that the player with more seniority on the team gets to keep his numer.

LJ and Dante switching numbers...sure no one would even notice ROFL
