Chiefs | Siavii a long shot to make team
Wed, 2 Aug 2006 13:11:03 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs DT Junior Siavii (knees) is a long shot to make the team, according to Adam Teicher, of KCStar.com. Lional Dalton and Ryan Sims appear to be entrenched as the starters at the tackle positions, and the team is impressed with backups James Reed and Jimmy Wilkerson. A ffith tackle, Ron Edwards, practiced for the first time, Monday, July 31. Siavii has not yet practiced in training camp.

I think Siavii is the biggest second-round bust in team history.

His NFL career peaked during his first game when he sacked Plummer.

 At least Browning can stay healthy for most of a season. Thatís one up on Sims and Siavii.

I'm just glad the Chiefs are willing to cut their losses and move on if Junior doesn't work out.

Why did they have to release that just when we're trying to trade him for Walter Jones?

That's especially exciting considering we traded out of round 1 to get him.

Assuming King Carl had the final say on the JS draft pick, it has to be considered the dumbest 2nd round pick in team history...maybe in the history of the NFL. That was a big, throat-clogging bite of wishful thinking that went completely sour.

Does anyone remember whre we were supposed to pick in the 1st round? Was it 27th? Or remember who we traded the pick to?

Because in the NFL it's done by record not the order in which you lose the Chiefs had a better record than every other team so the only teams they picked ahead of were the 2 Bowl teams.

We traded out of 30 with Detroit. We received their 4th, which is now Samie Parker. The only bright side of the JS debacle.

I think it was 27 or something. It was the draft after our 13-3 season. We traded down with Philly for Welbourne.

Phuking turd. Guess he didn't fit the "profile", eh Vermeil? Dumbass pick shouldn't have ever been made. Ridiculous. Siavii, Sims, Freeman. Great eye for motivated talent.

Because in the NFL it's done by record not the order in which you lose the Chiefs had a better record than every other team so the only teams they picked ahead of were the 2 Bowl teams.I thought it was wins, but it must be winning percentage. Carolina ended up with more wins, but had 5 losses to our 4.

For all DV's harping on character and work ethics he really laid a big turd with Suavii and Sims. Bob Sanders and Michael Boulware for safeties. Devery Henderson, Darius Watts, and Keary Colbert at WR. Ben Watson or Ben Troupe at TE. Keiwan Ratliff at CB.

The list goes on.

My biggest problem is we had a team that was a few pieces from potential play-off success, and we used our first two picks of that draft on admitted projects.

man, that's some of the worst armchair quarterbacking I've seen in a long, long time.

Saying that they shouldn't have picked him. Of course they shouldn't have, now that y'all see that he isn't good. I'd like to go back and look at the threads to see what you guys said then about him, if you posted at all. And also see what your draft picks would have been and how they are doing now.

In fact, we should have a thread that's saved just for drafts so everyone can choose who the chiefs could choose, then we can all go back and look and see how great your decisions are.

OK - that's off my chest. I'm better now.

K. Mitchell would disagree on that. He turned out fine. The real problem is the organization is selecting "projects", and rarely they ever work out, especially the Chiefs always have a raging woody on trying to pick "projects" in the 2nd round.

Siavii is not at training camp? WTF is that guys problem?

Siavii is at camp performing light workouts (no pads) and stretching exercises. He is working out on the side with the injured players (couple of defensive backs, Golliday and Ron Edwards). R. Edwards apparently has now started regular practice. Edwards is every bit as big as Siavii but with more muscle mass. I hope this guy works out but I have not seen him in drills yet.
