Maybe, maybe not...he's batting .236 or something close to that and is probably the worst fielding catcher in the majors. He has the most passed balls, including one that came on an intentional walk.

Nope, it appears there is a very small chance to get the 9th inning in. Since the White Sox are in a pennant race, the umpires are willing to give them a chance to see if it clears up in an hour or so.

Hilarious bit of trivia:

Right before the rain delay, Neal Cotts was announced into the game as the new relief pitcher in a pitching change. (This means he will also get credited with a game appearance even if he doesnt throw a single pitch)

According to the baseball rules, if the game is somehow restarted, Neal MUST now pitch to at least one batter. If he warmed up and now must sit for a couple hours and warm up again, risking possible injury or ineffectiveness, too damned bad, he must pitch to at least one batter or Chicago would forfeit. The only way he could get out of it would be to fake an injury.

Well, the storm has indeed inexplicably obliterated itself over and to the southwest of Kansas City for a small distance. The tarp is rolled up and the groundskeepers are throwing together a quick patch job to get the field in somewhat playable condition before the next storm wave comes. It looks like we'll be able to get the last 5 outs after all.

The White Sox are stuck with Cotts though, who MUST pitch to at least one batter.

Yes, right now even, from what scouts say. Plus, Baseball America is doing thier annual "best tools" feature for each league. Gordon is thier best defensive 3B tools for the Texas League.

Gordon is about as sure-fire as you can get for a prospect. Teahen will be moved to accomodate him.

I agree, it would be great for them all to play together, but I don't see a scenario where that could happen. I wonder if Teahan could play the OF, it seems like he has the wheels for it. More realistically I see one of those players other than sweeney getting traded. Maybe for a SS or a pitcher. I would hate to see it though.

Even so...Possible lineup for next year.
Dejesus...OF
Grudz....2nd
Teahan....1st, 3rd, DH

Gordon....3rd
