Rumor is Detroit is going to cut loose CR. Anyone think the Chiefs should take a look at him?

Will a change of scenery help him or nothing more than a first round bust?

He's worth a look for a minimum contract. How much worse than our WR's can he be?

Funny if they pick up Sims and we pick up Rogers.

Both of them aren't high intensity effort guys.

The difference is that Charles Rogers HAS been effective in the past. Sims is still climbing toward mediocrity.

I agree with this.

Charles was a very very good College WR, yes - that doesn't always translate, etc etc. BUT he's been in Michigan for years now, he's got all his boys there, if he were removed from the trouble (even though he will find it if he's that bad of a guy, in the beginning he wasn't but he always had a pot problem, even in college) maybe he would regain focus and try to be that guy again, that he was in the very beginning (of course for him, the beginning was game 1 when he got injured). Of course, if not, if he signed for the minimum, or close to it, it couldn't hurt that much.

All I know is I am about sick and tired of Carl drafting WR's who were cut from their own team, or out of football for their senior year. Just get a guy who isn't a walking stick man, and can catch the friggin ball.

What are you talking about? Rogers, thus far, has been a complete bust.

With Charlie Joiner here, we've got the best chance of any other team developing him into a good wide receiver. Do it.

If he can pass a daily drug test, and puts out some serious effort, I'd take a chance on him...

For the league min. on a 1 year contract.

That doesn't really follow. There are two things which contributed to Rogers being booted out. First is that he was essentially the same type of receiver as the other two first rounders they drafted in consecutive years, another point of proof that their GM is the most idiotic in the league. The second reason is that he was injured and the Lions didn't like the way that he rehabbed and later did not believe that he was injured. It might have helped if they had a system that was worth a damn there too.
He would be worth the shot to bring in, because he is a younger version of Eddie Kinnison.

When has Charles Rogers been effective in the NFL?

And considering Sims is too fat to climb, I'd say rolling towards mediocrity is more appropriate

No more Detroit Lions refugees! See Brett Perriman or Johnnie Morton for reference.

Are you counting his college years?

I wouldn't mind the Chiefs getting him to see if a change of scenery would do him good but he has never been effective in the NFL.

Some of you guys are funny, no team is going to just give up a WR that has no question marks. In the position the Chiefs are at, at WR. They should be looking at anyone who is released that has any amount of talent at all.
