Bartee was a second-round pick (54th overall) of Kansas City in the 2000 NFL Draft. Each team must finalize its 53-man roster on Saturday, September 2nd and can create an eight-man practice squad beginning on Sunday, September 3rd.

Thorpe is the biggest name on this list. I imagine that if he were a candidate for the practice squad he wouldn't have been released until the final cutdown.

I was hoping the Chiefs found a bargain when they draft Thorpe but I guess it wasn't meant to be.
