At some point CNN is going to have to confront the fact that they're the biggest bunch of boobs on TV. Before they can correct that they'll need to determine WHY:
1. Their hiring process allows in morons.
- or -
2. Their hiring process allows in people with an overwhelming political axe to grind.
It's funny that they keep trying to pass these things off as "simple mistakes" when you consider that the other news stations don't seem to be making the same mistakes. I mean come on, isn't there *someone* there that watches their own broadcast? A live speech might have been a good time to pay attention. Maybe when you heard the conversation begin you could have, oh, I don't know, CALLED SOMEONE TO TELL THEM TO TURN OFF THE MIC.

Good grief. Doesn't TV have a 4-6 second delay? I would think that would be enough time to realize their audio was f*cked and turn it off.

No, TV doesn't just automatically run on a delay. I doubt CNN is worried about their anchors dropping F-bombs or taking off their clothes enough to have one.
As for Simplex's rant, they're a channel that is live pretty much every hour of every day, mistakes are going to happen. I'm sure the great Fox news never has any on air gaffes.

I just find it surprising that a live station wouldn't have that safety net in place.

Despite Robo-Dumbass' comments I'd bet you that CNN does delay their "live" streams. With the size of the fines the FCC is handing out they'd be stupid not to. So it's still established that they're stupid.
As for his "Fox news sucks too" comment, which of course you KNEW was coming, I'm sure he'll have no problems pulling a few clips off of youtube where Fox or ANY OTHER national cable news station has f**ked up like that.

It wasn't defensive to bring Fox News into the discussion? Do you own stock in Time Warner or something?

I watch all news outlets. They all have their pros and cons. CNN for instance should be ashamed every night when they put Nancy Grace on the air.
I just think it's a bit reactionary to launch into some tirade about who CNN hires and political biases all because some anchor forgot to turn her mic off going into a john. Someone is just looking for any reason to go off on CNN.
But by all means, let's continue name calling. Maybe Simplex can say something about my mother to further argue his point.

Wasn't that hilarious ? When I first heard about this story I too thought about the same scene in Naked Gun.
