The Defense Department has uncovered its own credit card scandal. Over one recent 18-month period, Air Force and Navy personnel used govern*ment-funded credit cards to charge at least $102,400 for admission to entertainment events, $48,250 for gambling, $69,300 for cruises, and $73,950 for exotic dance clubs and prostitutes.

________

I'm looking for information on if this has been fixed. I was looking through the DOD budget for 2006, and couldn't find anything that would suggest it's still a problem.

Maybe it's fixed, hopefully. But this still leads me to another question - what do you see as the worst expenditures the federal government spends our tax money on?

Here's an article written in 2005:

http://www.heritage.org/Research/Budget/bg1840.cfm

It discusses 10 things the government wasted our money on. But his facts are from earlier this decade.

Doesn't the DoD have trillions unaccounted for annually? A couple 100k in credit cards is probably only the tip.
