Northwestern at Miami (OH)
Toledo at Iowa St.
Northern Illinois at Ohio St.
Marshall at West Virginia
Akron at Penn St.
Wisconsin at Bowling Green

Holy cow. Tennessee is leading Cal 35-0 early in the 2nd half. What the heck happened? I thought Cal was supposed to be really, really good this year.Every time Tennessee completes a pass, the receiver sheds one tackle and takes it to the house. The tackling is so bad I'm beginning to think those CBs are on the take.

To make things worse, Cal's highly touted offense isn't doing anything, and the QB (Longshore or whatever tf his name is) looks like Casey Printers without the athleticism.

Another soft PAC 10 team, over-rated I guess.

Yeah, you're definitely overreacting. First game of the season in a hostile environment. They did get outplayed, but they fought through it. They're not going to drop anywhere in the polls for this. They'll get credit for going on the road and playing a tougher BCS conference team rather than sitting at home and pounding on a mid-major.

There was one flag thrown for hitting Quinn, and it was warranted. It was helmet-to-helmet.

I haven't even looked at the box score, but I'm pretty sure there were considerably more penalties on ND than GTech.

I was just being a bit dramatic yea that guy hit Quinn in the head.....

Ok let me ask you something was it just me or in that first half for most of it.....Brady Quinn looked extremely shaken and scared at times. He had several moments where he looked like he saw a blitzer or a guy come free and went "oh shit!" and just chucked the ball.

I don't know if he looked scared, but he was definitely rusty and off with his passes. It's possible he was anticipating blitzers coming as the Irish had a freshman RT starting tonight. Georgia Tech did a very good job mixing it up early on D.

I'm not too concerned about Brady or the offense in general. Nobody's going to be their best right at the start of the season. The defense is probably going to be what does in this team. They played much better in the 2nd half, but right now they're not good enough to win a national title with.

I seriously could care less about the Hawgs, despite living in Fayetteville. That being said, I've got two observations:

1) Houston Nutt is a losing idiot. He just created a ton of problems for himself by putting Mustain in there.

2) Pete Carroll is a winning idiot. To continue with your starting QB in when you're up 30 points, and have that starter rolling out on bootlegs, when you've got 2nd and goal on the 1 yard line, is just asking for trouble. I certainly didn't want Booty to get hurt, but I would have loved to see Carroll get scared a bit by a nice hard hit which Arkansas wouldn't deliver.

Living in Bentonville, do you know much about Beaver Lake? I am supposed to go there next week but Lost Bridge Marina says they are going to quit renting boats if the lake drops another 6"'s. Are there other marinas that rent ski boats? Is there rain in the forecast for the next week?

The same thing was talked about with the Mizzou game tonight. Daniel was still playing in the midst of a biblical drubbing where Murray St. didn't even get a first down until almost halftime. He led with his helmet.

Notre Dame wins. You lose. :)

He did not...and I didn't lose anything. If your school would play the Hokies in college ball we'd wipe the field with Notre Dame, but the pussies won't play us

I just baffles me that people get so upset with what USC does........really if you don't like them scoring then STOP THEM.

The helmet to helmet hit was questionable......the overturning if Johnsons catch was bullshit there wasn't enough yet they did anyway. That Johnson thing was huge to considering it was 4th quarter and made them punt.

I thought it was a drop, but I could've understood not overturning it given the video.

Wheeler definitely puts his helmet down before contact and leads with it though.

There were plenty of calls in that game that screwed with ND drives though. Even in the first drive of the whole game, on the McKnight block. Those calls are only 'important parts of the game' if they're for ND though I guess. :p

Georgia Tech had a chance to stop ND 3rd and 9 at the end of the game, then a 4th and 1 at midfield that would've given them great field position to go win it, and their defense failed both times. I find it hard to have any sympathy for a team when they lose it that way.

That was a fun game, I was concerned before the game seeing as Leinart had an elbow problem and it was in Blacksburg.

Honestly I'm not impressed with ND because Calvin Johnson is litterally the only player GT has. I feel for that guy he'd set all sorts of records and win a Heisman if he had a QB that was any good at all.

Calvin Johnson is going to dominate in the NFL...when I look at him I see a dominant superstar HOF type talent player, I wish we could get him.

Absolutely...they had plenty of opportunities. Even so ND looked like garbage and are hardly a top ten team....barely a top 25 team. It's a joke that they been given such a ranking when they have done zero over the last 20 years to earn the respect.

I don't think ND looked all that great and they probably do get some calls sometimes, but at the end of the day GT had more than one chance to take the game, in their house, fair and square, and they failed. That's all you can ask for against the #2 team in the country.

Except for protecting the QB I thought the refs did a great job tonight. The h2h2 call was bullshit and the lack of a call when ball was already down was bad...but the ref paid for the h2h call by getting pegged with a water bottle.

They've only got about 4-5 games which aren't gimme wins, and I'd expect them to win a couple of the tougher games. So yes, they could definitely lose 3 or 4 games this year, but they won't lose '3 or 4 games this year easy'.
