.......by having Pink sing the intro to Sunday night football.

Pink has created "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night," set to Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself for Loving You," with new lyrics, NBC said Wednesday.

They're just catering to the traget SNF demographic, 13-17 year old girls.

We chose Pink as the signature voice because she is a tremendous talent with a crossover appeal that makes her relevant to all segments of our audience," said Fred Gaudelli, who will produce the Sunday night broadcasts for NBC.

Are you :cuss: serious? Yeah, let's start a poll about how many of us own Pink albums.

How can a network be so far removed from their demographic?

Didn't anyone learn anything from Ashley Simpson singing at that bowl game?

All commercial music is weak. They're just trying to make money, that's all...

Hank Jr. will probably stay with ESPN, and its not like you want to copy his style when you're trying to make a new thing happen...

I think there was some confusion when they polled drunken middle aged guys;

"Can I ask you some questions regarding SNF?"
"Suuuurrre"
"Do you like pink?"
"You know it baby."
"Would you like to see pink on SNF?"
"Hell yeah, can you get that Rachel Nichols broad from ESPN?!"
"What is your overall opinion on pink?"
"Like daddy always said, 'Two in the pink, one in the stink'.

Who cares? Honestly.

I'd be happy if they got rid of sideline reporters and all the stupid sideshows and just showed the game. Nothing irritates me more than focusing on the sideline reporters and junk while PLAYS are actually happening on the field.

The reality is guys/gals like us, diehard football fans, will tune in no matter who is singing. Even if we hate it, and bitch and moan about it, we'll still be contributing our share of the ratings.

They are looking for new blood, the target audience isn't you. You're already hooked in.

How many people are going to say "Hmm, I usually don't watch 3 hours of football, but now that they have a 60 second Pink promo at the beginning of every game...."?

Sure, that's understandable. But who is going to honestly say, "I like Pink so I think I'll tune in to see her sing this song....that was great. I think I'll watch this 3 hour football game now!"

They could have my favorite band do the intro for Gilmore Girls. It isn't going to make me watch it.

Why can't they just come up with a instrumental theme like MNF and use that? Something to identify with the show.

As for her music I kinda like her. She's a little in the mold of Janis Joplin who is my all time favourite. I don't ownw a Pink CD but I have a few of her singles on my mp3 player.

I doubt though that I'll catch this tune because I rarely tune in until 10 minutes past the listed start time. That way I miss all the commentary and nonsensical pregame garbage.

If Iowanian were the exec in charge, each week's game would begin with sounds of the home stadiums and players of each team in the evening's contest.

The music would be roaring crowds, smashing helmets, player soundbytes smashing pads, roaring crowds...Color man...bring it on.

I don't watch the intro, or whatever alleged entertainment crap they subject me to at halftime. I don't care for any of the overraught extraneous bullshit they come up with. MNF has become pretty much unwatchable, and I assume SNF will follow suit. I'll basically only watch games involving us or direct rivals. I'd rather drink bleach than watch a Cowgirls/Giants game and listen to the announcers endlessly felate the NFC East.
