Chiefs are -3.0 and the total is 45.5. I am a little surprised at the total. I thought it'd be closer to 50 given how bad both defenses were last year - two of the worst in the league. Either bettors think the Chiefs' D is improved, the O has gotten worse, or maybe worried about Palmer, but Palmer concerns should be reflected in a line higher than -3.0.

(Really the Chiefs being -3.0 indicates bettors think Palmer is virtually 100% because the line was as high as -4.5 recently.)

I think that is a solid line

Another interesting line is Indy -3, 48.5 in the Manning boys match-up. The game is in NY.

That game sure is going to be hyped.

As it should be. Like it or not, 2 brothers matching up as starting NFL quarterbacks, leading likely playoff, super bowl contendors is a big friggin deal.

The KC line is a standard home field line, appropriate IMO.

Is -3 at home essentially a push?

Yeah, you automatically get 3 if you're at home...

Yeah, 3 points is approximately the home-field advantage, although that is an average and I'd say the Chiefs' is worth 4-5 points actually.

Palmer better be 100%. with Hali ruining his return to Arrowhead.

I still think -3 is too low.
the over/under seem about right.

For those who didn't see my comments from the other betting line thread....

The Chiefs were a 4 or 4.5 point favorite on Monday. The spread has moved 1.5 since Palmer came out and played so well on Monday night.

That is the line I would have expected. 3 for the home team. This is a push by all means.
