I really believe we should do away with president's faces on our U.S. coins. Go back to the days of Lady Liberty and and soaring eagles.

I really like the way that coin looks.

I kinda of agree...the exception being George Washington, Father of Our Country.

Well, there's only 1 current president, so I would hope to God the answer would be never.

The Romans used to have gods or symbols of their great cities or horses on their coins. Then the emperors put their face on a coin and before long the empire fell. Meanwhile, over here we got Lincoln kicking Liberty off the penny in 1909 and Washington giving the axe in the 30s (I think it was 32), then Kennedy dies and gets his face on the half dollar a year later, and Nixon wants Eisenhower on something cause he's Nixon's idol. Who knows what's next. But I don't think anyone could complain if we put symbols on our coins that weren't just faces of politicians. You can't go wrong with Lady Liberty or the freedom associated with a soaring eagle. Just saying...

Don't forget the Carter nickel. It just has a picture of a huge gaping seeping bergina on the front and a group photo of the hostages on the back.

I'm no expert, but I believe one must be "queer" to receive his own three dollar bill. Clinton did nothing if he didn't prove he was not "queer". nttiawwt.

They can issue that with the Reagan dime. That's the one with the picture of the Marine Barracks in Beruit, and old Ronnie on the other side hightailing it out of there. :thumb:

They already have. Ever been to a Presidential Library? :p

Seriously, I'd support creating the first two headed coin. Bush 43 and Carter, on the plug nickel.

Since this link does not work this post is not very informative. You may not know the mint has for a long time done collector coins. I think you may have run across one but without the link working I do not know. I believe your actual issue would be with a common circulation coin of which no President since Kennedy has been on one.

They work for me, except the first one you just have to copy and paste. I'm not sure why it's not automatically a URL. I understand that collector coins. With Sacaweja. The link shows they're making them in 2007, the first 4 presidents. Then after year the next four come out. In 2016, Richard Nixon will be on the dollar.

Just out of curiousity what does that make you angry? Those are basically going to be collector coins even though you can get them. It is not like you see the Sacagewa dollars commonly. Beides what harm is there in it?

As far as temples have you ever been to the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials or what about the Washington Monument? Not to mention Presidential libraries as has already been pointed out.

Because when you start treating men as higher than men, and they start to be on your coins, it isn't long before they act higher than men. It isn't long before their title is changed, and it isn't long before people recognize them as higher than men. It's part of the bigger picture, Logical. As for Temples, I meant those in which you pray to men. I'm unaware of religions to Lincoln or Jefferson. LINK PLEASE. But once you replace ideals with men, you've ****ing screwed yourself. Ask my example, the Roman empire, what happens when you treat men as if they are god like.

I think you misinterpret what the Roman temples were for, at least as I recall my history. The Temples to honor their leaders were for that purpose as shrines not as religious temples. I could have it wrong.

Then why did you say this:

Because you said there were temples to Jefferson and Lincoln. So, I just clarified my meaning of temple, the definition in the sense of - House of a diety. Well, in that sense, I don't think there any places in America where a former president is considered a diety. But I could be wrong. Hopefully I'm not though.
