white on white was a very ugly Marty tradition and this game looked like a Marty Ball game.

I don't know who makes the decision on what color the team's jersey is, but whoever made that decision needs to be kicked in the nuts for hte following reasons:

1) Tradition

2) We ain't the ****ing Jags, or Dolphins, or Redskins, or Cowboys or any other such faggy team, we shouldn't be playing in white uni's at home.

3) It wasn't hot outside. I could see trying to get a psychological and physical advantage on a hot sunny day by making Cinci wear their black.

4) THE SEA OF ****ING RED. That was part of the intimidation of a Chiefs home crowd. Everyone wears red, so it looks like you are facing not only the team but 79K other people.

Utterly ridiculous.

Maybe if the Chiefs wear their home unis on the road they'll play like they usually do at home and have more success on the road

Brilliant!

Geez, game one home loss and the old timers are blaming it on the uniforms. Pathetic Ladies.

I'm sure someone already brought it up, but they were wearing white because they thought it was going to be really hot for the home opener and wanted the Bengals in black. The decision was made a long time ago, obviously, as everyone has known heat wouldn't be a factor for a while.

Herm is a tool if he decided that the team should wear white at home. September games have generally been hot, but we still don't wear our road uniforms at home.

One of the first questions asked by my ([mostly] non-football literate) daughters was: "if this is a home game why are we wearing white?"

My comments were among the dark colors absorb heat answers and they said "but they are supposed to weat red at home"...neither thought very much of wearing away colors at home and I didn't either.

MEMO TO HERM: NEVER EVER WEAR ANYTHING BUT RED AT HOME. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE YOU'RE FROM OR WHERE YOU'RE GOING THE ONLY TEAM THAT WEARS HOME COLORS AT ARROWHEAD IS.......THE CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope this doesn't mean that the white pants are going to be part of our away unis this year. I dig the red pants.

I got your back on this one Bowser, the red (aka "clown") pants are part of the away uni, all white looks like surrender to me.

We should wear away uni's at home only if the heat index is going to be over 90 degrees.

It's all about the MoJo. Hell my 8 yr old son asked me why they had white on because you were RED at Arrowhead!!! If an 8yr old can call it then you made the wrong decision.

TrueBeliever

The only reason you should wear your away colors at home is you are:

1) a team from a deep southern state, and even then you should only do it in September and October; or

2) you're the Dallas Cowpokes and you're dumb enough to think "Oh geez we lost a Super Bowl 35 years ago wearing our home jerseys so it's bad luck for us to wear our home jerseys ever again... even though we've had plenty of lousy seasons wearing our away jerseys at home too." Dum-basses.

i can see the logic in wearing white when its hot, what i can't see is the logic in not changing back to red when you know its not gonna be hot?
