A. At home
B. At the office
C. Both

And if the answer is B or C, does your employer care?

Give me a C.

and I don't know if they care - I have not been told to not do it. Might have something to do with doing my work before chatting. :)

C, with the majority A.

My job is similar to that of a fireman. If there is no crisis on the Shop floor, I have nothing to do. The best possible situation for my employer is that I get paid for eight hours of doing absolutely nothing. My salary is less that the cost of using me.

As long as I avoid the porn sites, there is no problem with me surfing the Web.

finds that the same situation applies at home.
No internet where I work.

B: 98% of the time (My home computer is hit and missójust shuts down sometimes). I don't think my boss knows, and not sure about the IT people. The fact is, I get my work done, so I don't think it will be an issue.

~~May be looking for a new job soon.

Crap - just as I posted that I post at work, they come and bust me! Some crybabies walk by my desk and see me on here and the next thing I know I'm told to "cut it back - alot". Damn, what's the world coming to?

So, I suppose that it's now A (at least for a while)

I'm a stock options trader for a few large retail and institutional clients. So when I am not trading for them, my job is to be available when they call...So the biggest part of my job is passing time in between clients...So as long as I stay out of porn sites then nothing online is off limits.

I'm 95% B...I sit 5' from my boss, keep the window minimized and post during processing and slow times...and get my work done....what they don't know, won't hurt em'.

the trick is to get your work done first..and try to avoid getting the IT lady contacted.....I'm sure i'll get busted someday...but it makes it that much more of a challenge...007....I just wish the big arrowhead at the top of the page wasn't so obvious and a panic button to a spreadsheet was added... http://www.chiefsplanet.com/ubb/smile.gif

No computer access at work. Besides, it'd be kinda difficult to read and post while driving a truck.

Although I post mostly from home, I still spend a lot of time on the board from work. I justify to myself by working a LOT of unpaid overtime and ensuring I get all my priorities completed first.

99.99999999% B http://www.chiefsplanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

C, but 99% of that is B. I guess the more important Q than 'Does your employer care?' is, 'Do I give a sh!t?'

no, obviously

I read and post while waiting for the next victim to call. Our offical stand is internet use only for work, but hey, they can't fire everyone and they would have too.

Iowa's got a great idea...an "Oh sh!t my boss is coming and I've got to look like I'm working" button would be fantastic. Of course, my boss is so stupid she probably thinks the arrowhead is a Quark thing.

~~Surprised he hasn't been caught yet (insert sound of knocking on wood).

I'd say 98% "B"
I sometimes post on Sunday mornings from home.

As to whether my employer cares. Well, I'm married to one boss, and am the designated drinking buddy of the other.
As long as our clients are taken care of properly, it's not a issue.
