Ray Walston, best known for his roles on "Picket Fences", and of course, Mr. Hand on 'Fast times at Ridgemont High', died yesterday.
I just put my 'Fast times' DVD in, in honor of 'Mr. Hand'.
He was 86.

Ray was Bob Dole's favorite martian, too.

Passed to his great reward having never seen Elvis win a playoff game.

[Spicoli has had a pizza delivered to class.]
Mr. Hand: Am I hallucinating here? Just what in the hell do you think you're doing?
Jeff Spicoli: Learning about Cuba, and having some food.
Check out some of his other credits @:

How 'bout his role as 'Poopdeck Pappy' in "Popeye"? I liked that one; but kind of a weird movie.<P>

Ray was great, but you guys have not given him credit for his most famous role of his career - My Favorite Martian. Nahh, it wasn't Shakespeare, but it was always great TV. He and Bill Bixby (originated in the self same series) are my favorites of 60's television.

Bob Dole mentioned it. It was a little before my time, though.
Mr. Hand will always be remembered.

Sorry Mr. Dole.
Joe - me too, but I loved the reruns as a child. Me and my brothers would fight over an hour of My Favorite Martian and Paladin or Gilligans Island and the Brady Bunch. To this day, I still cant stand Greg, Marsha, or any other of those brats.

Maybe that's why I immediately turn it off nickelodeon when it follows the cartoons my sons watch.
