View Full Version : Username origins

DaFace

There are a number of people on here that have pretty creative (or completely weird) usernames. Some of their origins are pretty obvious (cough...GoChiefs...), but I'd bet that some of them have an interesting story behind them.

So spill it...what's the story behind your username?

DaFace
10-02-2006, 01:25 PM
I guess I should start, though I think my username has a pretty juvenile origin. Back in my early days on the internet, I would often sign emails with a giant version of the winking emoticon instead of my name. It looked like this:
\ /
|
\___

A friend of mine referred to it as "The Face" and I started using it as a name online for lack of anything better. DaFace is a little shorter and has a little better ring to it, so I've stuck with it for nearly 10 years now!

A mod gave me this one. I have no idea what it means.

luv
10-02-2006, 01:29 PM
luv_2_rite (without the underscores was taken) is my email. I did luv2rite here (meaning pretty obvious). I switched to another lame name for awhile, but didn't like it. Most people on here called me luv anyway, so, when I had a mod change it back, I had him just make it luv instead of luv2rite.

Something that's splatted on the floor that you walk upon and say, "Damn! Wutamess!"

Chose my first email name in college (1992) as "morphine" because my buddy suggested that I should. A few years later I changed it to morphius as an upgrade. A few years later the Matrix came out and I wasn't going to change my name because some stupid movie came out using it.

tada.

I am too lazy to look back in this thread..

But 3 posters that I would like to know the origins of there user names are..bunny..Bwana..and htismage..
Thanks,

A pondering Bill Parcells

Well, bunnytrader has explained his before. He sells live food for snakes or something like that. Rabbits, rats etc. I think.
I am pretty sure Bwana posted in this thread and if you ever get Parker to explain htismaqe, I think you would be the first.

If it was spelled like you did it with a "g", I would guess jumbled "hits game."
Oh, and your time might be better spent pondering perpetual motion. :D

Is that what bunnytrdr's name says? :doh!:
I was always sayin' it in my head as "bunny turder" for some reason.
I've had lots of bunnies for pets, maybe that's why. And you know what they
leave everywhere.

Mine has two different origins.

The first is a nickname. Kind of like when people call a really big guy Tiny.:D

The second is "stumppy" is the name of a dog I had when I signed up for the planet.
