NFLScoop.com has learned that former St. Louis Rams head coach Dick Vermeil spent portions of December in Kansas City serving as a consultant to Peterson and it was only until this weekend when Vermeil started to soften his stance about returning to the sidelines. Vermeil is still under contract to the Rams and much like Marty Schottenheimer, the Chiefs have to work out a compensation package with the Rams. In today's print version of the USA Today, Vermeil stated, "I'm not in a position to say yes or no. It's not ethically right for me to say." Here is why. Vermeil has been placed under a gag order. In fact everyone associated with this story is under a gag order because the Rams and Chiefs are finalizing a compensation package that will include draft picks. Sources close to the Chiefs organization have informed NFLScoop.com that no decision has been made yet, but that could change at any moment. Yesterday, television trucks and various scribes camped out at Arrowhead all day long just waiting for something to happen. Today, the same is expected.

HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN..
