View Full Version : Hypothetical: If Trent Retires

Let's say Trent retired tomorrow. if you could replace him with any of these three players who would it be? A vote for Jones could be seen as letting us cut ties with Bober/Black/Turley and signing some scrub QB. Harris would necessitate us getting rid of Dalton, and Brady would just push Huard back down the depth chart.

It depends. I would really like it if Carl could somehow peel Walter Jones from the Seahawks. That said, I think the deal is rather pointless if you are going to give him Trent Green's roster spot, i.e. QB1. I hear Mr. Jones throwing arm is less than impressive, though he would be difficult to tackle, IMO.

Tom Brady without question. Best QB in the game and has at least 7-8 solid years left.

We have all seen the affect a top notch LT can do for a team. I would have to take Jones. We already have Croyle for the future under center.

I'd take Brady just to see him get the shit knocked out of him behind our crappy O-line.

If we're talking like this, we all know that Peytie-poo would be #1 on everyone's list. Not to mention it would be awesome to see the Zebras get confused by his Chiefs uniform and flag him for illegal motion every time he "audibles."

Tommie Harris.

Our defense would be amazing, and long-term.

I voted for Tommy Harris. Youth and bad ass at DT. With our young backers, Safety's and DE's we would be rock solid for years to come.

Walter Jones is top dog at LT, but isnt he already in his early 30's?

Who needs Brady when we have Hurlin Huard at QB

My first response was to go with Walter Jones, but Tommie Harris is so much younger. He hasn't played his best football yet; an "ascending player" as Vermeil would put it.

In my opinion this line of thinking is absurd. First, Trent is not going to reture. Second none of the players you mention would come over free and the teams that now own their contracts would never let them go. Third, no Chiefs fan is going to give up what the other teams would want for the trade, more than likely LJ.
