View Full Version : 9 most hated player opponents

WEIRDWOLF

I am working on a new item for my Weirdwolf costume and need some help in determining the 9 most hated players from other teams. For example I would think that John Elway is Chiefs public enemy #1. Ben Davidson is probably another one. Who else should be included? Thanks for your help.

I like Basileus' sig quote. Is it even possible for Donnie Edwards to tackle Larry Johnson? I'm not sure it could happen.

Jack Tatum?

Y'know, I never developed as intense a hatred for him as I did other Raiders. I would rate Marv Hubbard, Steve Wisniewski, and Fred Biletnikoff above him in addition to the others I mentioned.

Gaethers is third on my list.

Elwaytoomanyteeth is #1 due to all the heartbreak he caused us during the marty era.

Ben Davidson is second because of the unbelievably brutal spear to Lenny. For those of you who have never seen this play, I encourage you to watch it. That was far worse than the Gaethers hit.

You said players, but what about the Rat, Al Davis, and Pat Bowlen?

I second that.....

You'd think that a guy who played with a consumate professional like Rod Smith would learn to just stfu and play. I have never seen a guy whine and flop his way into so many pass interference calls as Mccaffrey. As much as I hate Denver and their collection of degenerates, Rod Smith is one guy on their team who I grudgingly give respect to. Rods a gamer who always seems to be above the trash talk and just goes out and makes a lot of plays. He's always played big against us.

Yeah, just being a Bronco doesn't automatically make a player evil. There are some Broncos that I actually would respect as players if they weren't Broncos: Smith, Terrell Davis, Al Wilson, and Trevor Pryce, for example. All good players who didn't need to cheat the salary cap, chop block, or whine to play well.

You know one guy on the Denver offense who I absolutely loathe is Tom Nalen the center. The guy has been the ringleader of the dive at the knees squad for years. What really pisses me off is that he has taken a number of pro bowls away from a more deserving Casey Weigman. I guess with Roaf and Shields making it every year, the coaches figure they can't have too many on the offensive line from the Chiefs. You can't tell me that Nalen is better than Weigman.

A search on youtube and google turned up nothing in the form of video, Mr. Bwana. My apologies.

I did, however, locate this excerpt from the game. It came from the Chiefs' web site. I think it was the '69 season:

-----
One of the season’s pivotal junctures came in a 17-17 tie vs. Oakland (11/1). The Chiefs were ahead 17-14 when Dawson apparently sealed the win, running for a first down which would have allowed Kansas City to run out the clock.

While on the ground, Dawson was speared by Raiders DE Ben Davidson in an infamous incident that cost the Chiefs a victory and further inflamed the already heated Chiefs-Raiders rivalry.

WR Otis Taylor retaliated and a bench-clearing brawl ensued. Offsetting penalties were called, nullifying Dawson’s first down. The Chiefs were forced to punt and Raiders K George Blanda eventually booted a game-tying FG with 0:08 remaining.

That tie ultimately cost the Chiefs a tie with Oakland for the division crown as Kansas City finished the year with a 7-5-2 record, while the Raiders went 8-4-2.
-----

I've seen the clip on the NFL network several times over the course of the last couple of years.

I can't explain why, but I always hated Tim Brown.

As for other people, even though he wasn't an opponent, Lin Elliot did as much damage to the Chiefs as any opponent could have dreamed of. I will always hate him.

We gotta get Tatum on this list. He tried to hurt people. Lester Hayes was just a pissant by comparison.

For sure Skip, i've never seen Tatum express even an ounce of regret for the way he played, he's defiant to this day.

Tatum invented the Tomahawk clothesline

The thing about Tatum was..he was a dirty player..he knew it..and admitted it several times

Al Davis is and always was an idiot
