Looks like Bob Dole will be arriving in Austin the evening of 1/22 for a CDLR conference (departing 1/26).

Seems like there are a couple of people on here in Austin...anyone up for some beers one or more evenings?

CDLR = Center for Distance Learning Research. (It's a partnership between the Texas A&M University System and Verizon.)

Forced betterment, actually.

Bob Dole is so looking forward to sessions like Adoption and Diffusion of WebCT in a Web Supported Instructional Environment: Distance Education Technologies for the Classroom and A Model for the development of a statewide career and technology teacher education certification structure via distance education learning modalities.

Bob Dole is trying to find someone with something in common to have drinks with, rather than the crap shoot at the hotel bar.

I don't know why I found that so hard to decipher. It looks so very clear to me now. I would love to have a few brews with a fellow Chiefs fan... but unfortunately, I stuff my days full with work, school, and an hour drive in to and back out of town from Marble Falls.

Darn... and I know SO many naked, Sweedish, blonde, 18-21 yr olg girls that need some company! Sorry.

Distinguished Senator Dole,

I should be back in town by then. Send me an email with the details. I'm always up for a drink or ten...ah I mean two.

Excellent.

Bob Dole knows Bob Dole will arrive the afternoon/evening of 1/22 and be ready for a drink (or 10) after the wonderful (cough cough) drive. Unfortunately, Bob Dole is stuck at the Drury Inn North because the legislature is in session and all the Hyatt rooms are booked.

I could always tell when the legislature was in session in Austin by the increased number of vultures flying over the lake. Professional courtesy, I've heard the locals say.

I recommend a sidetrip to the original Threadgills at some point, ask anybody for directions. Good eats and rock n' roll history, plus they've got more old K.C. Muehlbach beer signs than anyplace in Missouri. And La Zona Rosa is just a few staggers down the strasse, IIRC. What more you want?

Mr. Dole,

Email me at Kyle@chiefsplanet.com and I'll give you my cell phone number. I'm heading back to Austin right now.
